pic is a brand of micro controller. they come in varying sizes and types, with different capabilities, depending on the job you need done. You have to put them on PCBs (printed circuit boards) or in a breadboard (hand wired) with other components (i.e. capacitors, resistors, resonators). It's a totally different style of programming
Haha, the only time i've thought about PIC programming is when i was thinking about making a hardware keylogger, but the man reason I coouldn't was because PIC Programmers usually cost money, and I'm not sure how to connect it to my PC without buying something (i didn't look into it much, so please correct me if im wrong)
But yeah, I'd still love to make that hardware keylogger, as most of the components I can get for free/really cheap.
