C book ?

Stop with this "best" rubbish. The important thing is that you start learning the language. I prefer to learn from books so if you wish, go to your local library and get a book or buy one. If you are worried whether the book is crap or not, read some of the reviews on amazon to get a feel, but remember there are some retards out there who give reviews.
Your next alternative is to get some online resources. It's pretty easy to search for yourself but here's to get you started:
http://www.cprogramming.com/tutorial.html http://www.cyberdiem.com/vin/tutorials/
K&R C Programming, 2nd edition ("the book") - http://www.amazon.com/Programming-Language-Prentice-Hall-Software/dp/0131103628
Can also be found online if you search around a bit. We have a first and second edition at the office which comes in useful sometimes for giving new joiners an internals introduction to UNIX/Linux.
Yes, I was going to say that…
The C Programming Language, 2nd ed.
Which was written by Brian W. Kernighan, and Dennis Ritchie (who designed the language).
The book's about ~260 pages, but awesome pages, non-talkative book.
