If someone didn't get it, Cain is a "hacktool" and Abel is a backdoor (which will of course be found by the antivirus).

If you're not using Abel, you can just delete it. You probably just want to use Cain's functions.

abel comes with a manual. abel is a backdoor.

cain is a must have password recovery utility + so much fucking more. and duh…a/v will definitely think its a trojan…because it is. but when you run abel there is a blue icon in the system tray…so its not a well hidden trojan and therefore should not be alerted to the rest of the noobs here so they wont download cain.

Haha, same here Kaksii. Most of the passes I need to crack can be done by SleazoidTheRipper or L0phtcrack. I have used Cain in the past, but from my experience, L0phtcrack was easier and faster.

Still, Cain is useful… Don't know much about Abel…

just to clear this up, as mentioned above.

cain & abel..

abel is a trojan that can be used with cain.

cain is a standalone program used for all sorts of network tools and password cracking.

abel is surposed to be a backdoor, so i wouldnt freak out if you scanner finds it…. just maybe,…. dont run it on your pc.
