The "We love Harry Potter" thread... (spoilers probably)
I've decided that, like all sites full of pathetic nerdy loner 15 year olds (gets out my wizards cloak and hat) that we need a thread about Harry Potter…
So what were your views on the latest book and the series as a whole.
Oh and if you haven't read the book and are going to DON'T READ ON, people WILL post spoilers, some to discuss the plot, most to make fun of me and everyone else who read the book
Harry and Voldemort join together and kill everyone by shoving laptops running Command Prompt down their throats and sending them huge ping packets.
Nah, but seriously, the only thing that confused me was this: Isn't the Elder Wand passed on by death? Harry didn't kill Malfoy, so how did he get mastery of the wand?

The Elder Wand is usually passed on by Death, but Malfoy didn't kill Dumbledore either… He just disarmed him, and that was enough to count as defeating him, the only reason the wand was usually passed on by death was that it was so difficult to defeat in a duel that most people seemed to kill in the owners sleep.
Grindelwald didn't get killed by Dumbledore either, just imprisoned, but Dumbledore won the duel.
So when Harry grabbed the wands from Malfoy in his house he had suceeded in forcibly taking Malfoy's wand and therefore became it's master

Nope, the movies sucks (Though Emma Watson doesn't, unfortunately), I'm talking about the books, and you can just tell he's charming and hot from the books

he seems a bit… well odd to me. For someone charming he should have maybe paid a bit more attention to that girl at the yule ball in book 4 and i doubt that someone who has lost most of his adult friends and family he seems remarkably sane, most people would atleast suffer from depression, maybe he will commit suicide in the next book :p
The actor in the latest movie has no charm. he stood there getting off with a girl with his hands by his sides, she was the same. That was the first time i have seen two teenagers getting off with the only point of contact being the lips.
Yeah the movies suck as I've said…
And he walks willingly to his death so maybe that's the same… And as for the "he seems sane to me", he's constantly making stupid (but brave) decisions, only living because of other people rescuing him… And he's constantly getting pissed off at everyone, including Dumbledore and his friends.
if i was him i wud get pissed off at the people in the book. They would be so annoying i real life. Ron is funny cos he is thick, but that would irritate you in real life, hermione is weird and dumbledor is a freak aswell (if you were to choose who killed you, would you ask snape of all people to do it??
Potter is a fag, First thing I would of done if I had a magic wand would be to remove every piece of clothing put on the back of Hermione.
Then with my magic wand, give myself another magic wand, so I have two. With one wand I bend her over, against her will if needs be With the other I remove my clothes, and so on…
RAPE FTW!!1!!
I loved the books, here is my opinion on it:
- J.K Rowling is obviously not a bad author by the general standard- she's sold more books then anyone, therefore she must be doing something right.
- Because of point #1 it is impossible for harry potter to actually suck, but in your opinion it can suck, just it in general does not suck.
- The movies have gotten worse. #5 was ok, but it moved awkwardly.
I loved the new book, read it in 8 hours. I was hoping for a description of ginny's bewbs, but maybe that was asking to much :( In my mind she's still 16 <3. (How much does the post scream of nerd? O_o)
moshbat wrote: And, did anybody notice the sudden appearance of swearing at the end?
Yeah I know… Only the word Bitch that i saw… It's hilarious, 3000 pages relatively violence-free(except magic) and completely swear-free, then in the space of 2 pages the elves attack with Carving knives and Mrs. Weasley shouts that someone's a bitch, before killing her
Most people deny the quality of the books as they can't handle the thought that they are reading books who are also being read by ten year olds.
Bit sad though, good books, nice story. Read all of the books (duh) and I have to say, Rowling is quite an author. I really like her sense of humor hidden within the stories.
Also, many characters are rather likeable (who doesn't love Dobby?) and interesting.
Props to Rowling for seven clever written books.
The book was pretty good, but I thought that J.K killed off a bunch of not-so-imporant people just to make up for the books in which nobody dies. Why didn't she kill Ron or Hermione, or better yet, why didn't she make a part where Voldemort lines up all the teachers at Hogwarts and kills 'em all execution style? THAT would be awesome :D
It would have made the book more interesting to see some important people die, I knew Voldemort was gonna die (if he didnn't, what would be the point of the series)? I just wanted some more suprising things.

JKR will probably make some more of her charity books, or she might do something stupid, like make a series about James, Lily, and Albus Severus.
