should leftist sites be knocked off-line?
While I was watching the news, the poll question showed up.The topic was: Should websites containing libelous and anti-establishment sites taken down? text a)agree b)disagree. blahblahblah…charges….
I grabbed my phone and started sending B like mad.
I actually can't figure out why these government fuckers actually want to take these sites off-line. My country is a democracy, where all sorts of freedom is allowed(if you're extremely deluded by countless reality TV, gossip, sex, drama, cartoons and pro-establishment messages you'll believe the government more)
I have several arguments for those who think of the first option.
a)why knock these sites off-line? If they are all lies, just ignore them.My dad used to say that no matter how much people tell lies about you, just ignore them. Knocking them off-line shows you have something to hide, don't you think so?
b)if you say that they are liars, just counter them. Most politicians say that bloggers are stupid, discriminative, ugly, inept,etc. (Aren't they the one that's all mentioned above?) Just go online, create a blog, and explain. easy.
c)FREEDOM OF SPEECH. did ya hear me, loser? ever heard of that? you, the politician who tells people to die for their country, and he shoots the loyalists first and blames it on leftists, believer in fascism, racism, sexism, homophobia, the books you ever read are about loyalty even if it means getting yourself into loads of shit and left to die? ever heard of that? Not letting people express their opinion is a freakin' fascist thing.
d)how will the youths' minds ever get smarter? My country's forefathers led my nation through independence by reading countless books, learning from various sources, brilliant intellectual debate, and a distaste for imperialisme, but with a strong liking to be as successful as the imperialists are. nowadays the government explode the minds of youths with reality tv with a pinch of patriotisme. I happen to get lucky, as I have plenty to read, plenty of stuff to learn, and a distaste for pop songs.
e)how could you expect people to be non-discriminative? I used to think hackers are evil; now I admire them and hold them in high regard. People say that Machiavelli is evil, but his most evil act is writing The Prince; which all he did was compiling on his observations on successful imperialists. I don't think Mac's evil, he just wrote a book, now he's more evil than satan. My country also says that communists are evil, but Friedrich Engels also wrote about Feminism, while most capitalists write about sexism. All you have to do is look on both sides of the fence.
f)is the fuckin' INTERNET, stupid. If you try to bring a website down, you have to go trough various sources. Not to mention most blog services are in the US of A. Blogger, Facebook, MySpace..if you try to bring these off-line, please wait for a lynch mob outside your house to castrate you, or you can do it the way China does.
well, that's all I have to say, I feel better now getting it out of my chest.I sincerely hope you'll give your opinion, as in case anyone argues that it's a good thing, I can say the world doesn't agree. whadda..a patrol car? at this hour of the day? oh shit…

EDIT: Although, there are many "hackers", myself included, who love to target networks supporting ideas/corporations they disagree with (e.g: PETA, Microsoft, those "god hates fags" people, etc). So what you should be worrying about isn't coming from your government that you're so quick to despise (fight duh systemz!!1!), but rather the very people you associate with on this forum.

The gov. are all mean to us…They think that hackers ruin the world, and that hacking sites hurt the net, no that's not true, it's the people who "say" they're hackers and screw with everyone, just like in this poll, no, they shouldn't take sites offline, it's not fair for the people who made them, yea, some might be lies, but why would you care if it's a lie? And if it isn't a lie, and your trying to shut it down, yea, your hiding something, and the gov. is bad about that :evil:
