Satellite Internet Service Good or Bad?

Hey Ive had cable for the past few years and have had a lot of problems recently that are getting in the way of work and fun. I was wondering if satellite was worth a try. I have googled it but I rather hear it from real people who are skilled with computers and know the real deal.

I believe satellite connection is often slower but more expensive than cable, but I haven't tried it myself yet.
