well i use azureus to download and i get my torrents from
you have to register though but its well worth it you'll have to wait untill registrations or open or if you want i can send u an invitiation code :D
I will be the first utorrent fanboy.
seriously, get it, it's the best one.
:D
it's pretty easy for a beginner to use, compared to some of the more complex setups that I've seen in azureus, and also TINY. I'd start out with that or the standard Bittorrent, so you can figure out how to use it. azureus seems to work better or worse depending on your computer/internet connection/etc, and requires a bit more tweaking to work properly. I haven't tried BitTornado, and I've heard both bad and good things about it. /shrug.
good luck.

two of us did silly mcbilly. :p
µTorrent is the best client in my eyes. Azureus is too much of a resource hog, and it's really slow compared to µTorrent.
Whatever you do, don't use BitComet/BitLord/BitSpirit/Shareaza, as they don't comply with the BitTorrent protocol, and are banned from many private trackers (and many people block connections to those clients).
