Having a hard time SITTING there and READING!

Here is the biggest problem I have with my hacking career. I really struggle with being lazy, like, I really want to learn, and I am very interested in how everything works, but when I sit down and read like a e-book or something in Adobe reader, or an article on HBH, it is really hard to do. Next thing I know my mind is in a different place, or im thinking about doing something else, or I start getting restless feelings. I hate this.

Does anyone else have/ or had ever had this kind of problem? Any ways to solve it?

And I dont have ADD, ADHD, or anything like that, was already tested in grade school.

someone relate!! :)

:xx:

thankz

Yea, you should just test things out. Just start messing around and start trashing stuff. That's how I learned.

I have the same problem sometimes… i find its easier to learn if i can discuss parts of it with another person. that way you can better understand what it is that you are learning, and you interact with someone else, which should keep you on task

yay! Its nice to see people with an Elite and HBH guru status that have my problem. I do find it a lot easier to discuss with other people also, just so long as the other person has the correct knowledge.

thanks for tips

just gotta keep working on it. :)

This is like these little tests we have in school to measure your kinesthetic (doing), audio (listening) and cant remember the word so i'll say sight :p and what ever score we get we get put into groups with same learning styles eg i scored higher in kinesthetic so i get a group where we do more practical things rather than writing

Yes, I can relate too man. If I was to read eBooks I'd need stimulants, or only have music on (to keep me from surfing the net).

Otherwise, I find that the best way to learn is to go to the library and read books about security, OR print out those eBooks then read them on your bed.

You might also be a visual learner, look into your learning type, along with kinesthetic learning.

One thing that actually helped me, but I didn't do it on purpose. Was my computer wasn't hooked to the internet for a while, so I'd just shut the door of my room, make it so no one could bother me, and just play some semi-loud music. So I didn't wanna surf the internet, or talk to anyone. And that's one point where I learned tons in a short period of time. And also my computer periodically loses internet connection, so that's also a good time. Haha. But other then that, I guess just self control. And it helps not to force yourself to do it, if you don't want to, then don't. Only do it when you want to. Hopefully that'll help.

I have the same problem. I get restless and bored while trying to pay attention to things, and end up running around my house, and usually falling down the stairs and things like that. Then, I can't pay attention because I realize how funny it is that I fall down the stairs on a daily basis… It's pretty much an endless loop of inability to pay attention. Fortunately, I have a good memory and can read a little bit at a time, go back to the article hours later, and still be able to save and piece together all the information inside my head. :)

Hm, but do you really wánt to learn? If you actually like falling maybe you don't pay attention on purpose.

Lol, it's actually just absent-mindedness. The other day, I climbed a tree, forgot I was afraid of heights, and got stuck. 10 minutes later, I found another tree, and climbed it… :/
