Myspace

http://www.myspace.com/hex_geek

Occasionally I'll post a little blog about security and keeping people from stealing passwords. Nothing that anyone here really needs to read, but good for the un-ordained.

By the way, that's hex as in hexadecimal, not hex like scarlet witch from the brotherhood cast. Can't get enough of those crazy numbers.

This is my youtube podcast's myspace. right now it's only got 9 friends..:( Shameless advertisement…if this isn't allowed I'll remove this portion of the comment. ;)

edited to clean up my grammar a little bit

http://www.zeromotive.com/ (I think?)

Way cooler than myspace. And I don't have either one of the two because I feel they are too insecure. :D

They are insecure, but not to attacks, but human stupidity. and as everyone here knows, there is not Patch for human stupidity. cause i have gotton half of my schools myspace passwords. and surrounding schools.

I don't get it, if i know the person then i'd add them. Why would i randomly add someone just because their from hbh? I hate people who try to get as many people on their friends list as possible to make them seem popular.

**maybe others were thinking this and just didn't say it? Please, do correct me if i misinterpreted your message

I agree with you for the most part, but also think there is something to be said for adding a small handful of people you don't know in person. For instance, I write short articles on security and SE in my blog on myspace that will never make it here or on any other site. I've also made some friends doing this. Usually about every 3-4 months I go through my friends list and delete the people I either A: don't really know and haven't gotten to know, or B: don't like. So no…while I don't care for people who add 200 friends just so they can look popular…I think adding some random people you've come across with similar interests in your net travels can be a very good thing. That's actually how I met one of my best friends…through a fragglerock website forum. ;)

Some of the other obvious cop-out answers I could give of course pertain to how adding each other helps build this community and whatnot….but those arguments are mostly bull anyway. I despise friends-list padders.

hope that made some sense…as I proofread back it doesn't seem to be quite what it sounded like in my head.

you cant even see my friends list on my myspace, or how many friends i have, i could really care less if you, or anyone else thinks im popular just by looking at a number on a webpage. i made this mainly to see who all had myspace cause i was curious. i dont think ive even went and added anyone who has replyed. im pretty sure anyone could care less what you hate, keep your thoughts to yourself instead of just trying to get another post.

but on the flip-side to that some of the others who have posted on this and similar threads will use it just to look special im not sure that his comment or my own was directed straight at you

lol yours kinda was. but since i was the topic starter, he was more than likely talking directly to me

maybe but yea mine wasnt meant to be because all myspace is is a grounds for us to practice SE and chat if you havent anything better… why would it really matter ifyou were popular to a bunch of people you havent/wont ever even meet. but i can see where it would be useful for us all to be linked in some form or fashion so that we could work together or show articles and opinions on other things
