there is no such thing as hacking music.

The artists you listed above could also be used by someone to block out hackers (as weird as it sounds, it happens).

I don't listen really to music when I "hack". Sometimes I'll have some songs in the background, but I don't consider that to be my "hacking music".

My hacking music is stimulants. I take them when I code or look for exploits. They keep me focused, since I have a short attention span.

This is only a small portion of my musical tastes (My Techno/DnB/Trip Hop section) I like a much more varied selection of bands, but this is whats usually playing while I'm doing my thing/learning.

Nice f*cking list! I love them all except Anal Cunt. And, i think your hands were in the wrong position, that "Necrofag'ia" is spelt Necrophagia, or Necrophagist, whichever one, they're both really good. I actually saw Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, and Necrophagist on tour not too long ago. Mind-blowing, Dying Fetus kicked ass!

As for the hacking music thing, anything that's fast and can keep a fast beat i'll listen to. I normally don't listen to music while doing it, though (unless i'm on my laptop ;)).

Wheee. I tend to listen to more folkish music, or metal, depending on what it is. My top three are:

Rofl, nah, their vocals tend to annoy me. The music is great, the lyrics are funny, but the vocals just…annoy me as much as Cradle Of Filth annoys me :p

Fair enough, but in some songs (like, the entire picknick of love album) the vocals just emphasize it and it wouldn't have the same effect without 'em. TRALALALA LALA LALA!

OK well first off…. MSI kicks ass… and secondly,

I listen to alot of music… since I spend a good amount of time at my computer… I don't have a specific genre that I listen to when I'm doing one set thing… I mix it up usually… But I have noticed that when I am on this site and doing a challenge.. or just teaching myself… I listen to rock and punk and metal…

Everything from Rage Against the Machine to Metallica, from Amber Pacific to Slipknot… and even Techno sometimes, just because of the beat….

SO it all depends on what I'm doing and how determined I am to get something done, because as I read in a previous post.. I get side tracked very easily as well… and music keeps me in tune to what I am doing.

Hm. MSI is good to listen to every now and then, and Anal Cunt definitely. Most of my family gets irritated when I listen to them. So I love turning them up loud. But I forgot completely one of my favourite (almost) Extratöne artists, TerrorMasta. You can never go wrong with listening to him. Haha. I'd be surprised if he wasn't Extratöne. Nonetheless. Blah. I've also been known to make my own music. I've made a few industrial tracks to date using just sound samples, and I've also made plenty of music using Fruity Loops.

I actually hate Trivium. I'm seeing them live soon, though :xx: They're opening for Lamb of God. I can't belive that Machine Head is opening for Trivium. F*CKING Machine Head OPENS for Trivium. What a load of crap! :p

I don't know, i heard they're good live though, hopefully it's like a Mastodon situation. Not a fan of the albums, but see them live and they KICK! I actually have a picture of me in front of the guitarist from Mastadon at the unholy alliance tour!
