i was messing about on my computer in a batch file and i typed in net send * hi which as most of you will know sends a message to every computer in the network. i was convinced that there wouldnt be any computers to pick it up but it said something like "message sent to mshome" or something like that. i wasnt really sure what to think and i have a few questions. Should it acually do that because as far as im aware i dont think i should be networked to mshome and on their computer will they recieve the message?? i thought net send only worked over LANs and i dont use netsend lots so i dont know an aweful lot about it so could anyone shed sme light on it plz??

Net send does only work on a LAN. mshome is the default workgroup name, so all it did was send a message to an empty workgroup. Nothing to worry about.

That's probably because when you got the internet it turned on the networking shiz in windows, which auto-joined you to mshome (if that made any sense).
