Okay so today I was surfin around and I bumped into something I sure you guys can explain to me[plz dont flame]. I know you dont have to put the prefix "www." [or ftp or whats ever you looking for] when you type in your address. But today I noticed that when I just typed in "google", it took me to google. When i typed "ziggythebear" it took me to my profile page on HBH. Im running FireFox and I asked one of my friends if she could do the same, she got the AOL search pages and shes using IE. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but I jsut noticed that also. So what is going on? Is it just taking me to the most relevant page that it could remeber from me surfing?

Typing google in the url bar before a word brings you to the results page on google for whatever you type… Other than that I think it looks for pages with "whatyoutype" followed by ".org", ".com", ".net" etc…

linerider brought me straight to a deviantart page on something called linerider… Maybe it's the equivalent of an "I'm feling lucky" search

bingo

it takes you to the first result of google as if you had searched the incomplete url in google itself.
