i thought it was a scam, but went ahead filled out the surveys. It took me about an hour to get all of the required ones done. The whole way I still thought it was a scam until I finally got the email for approved domain in my email. I logged into the admin side and just need to change the name servers to a hosting package from somewhere else.(It doesn't give free hosting but you can use a site like awardspace.com for free hosting with a domain).

TIP: For use of the surveys, use a email like MyTrashMail.com so that your real email doesn't get swamped with spam. Then when you request your domain after getting all the required points approved, change it to your real email and real info.
I hope you guys are able to get some free domains as well. .com, .net .org and others!!
yeah seriously i thought it was a scam as well, but nope, its crazy lol. never thought something like this would be true.
here is complete proof to you guys, i uploaded a under construction page now that the nameservers are fixed.

Also, PrivatePhone (the link on http://www.garyshood.com/freedomain/) looks really useful!! I hate it when you get asked a phone number to signup for stuff :@ But now I can just use this number :wow::D
Yes, this actually works. I now have a free domain and hosting of my site. Proof it works….
Nothing on there yet but when I get around to it there will be updates.
Only thing that sucks is it takes very little time to do the surveys but it seems to take a hour or two for the damn things to get verified. Also, takes some time for the DNS to resolve. Can't argue with FREE though.
