Stories of Disrespect
OK I was at the place where i bought my computer yesterday taking advantage of my 12 month warranty. So this warranty included basic services too. So i took in my laptop and asked for them to install Ubuntu on my 20.00 Gb Hard Drive (please dont laugh i got it for 50$ AUD). So this guy agreed and went to work. After a few rebootings and many re-logons this guy told me "it was useless putting a password on my account because they can be easily by passed". So the way this guy said it i got a bit angry and me being 13 was not getting any respect from him. So i decided to bet him 20$ that he couldnt by pass the password. Well the retard agreed and said "it quite simple… I just boot it in safe mode". To that i pretended i didnt know this and said "WOW really i never kknew that well log on then and i will pay up". "OK no problem kid"…. "woops i have a password on the boot options well it looks like you owe me 20$ sir". Im sick of this just because im 13 anyone who meats me thinks they know better. If you have ever been dis-respected please post your story here. SANTA
I understand where you're coming from, I've been disrespected many times but for a different reason. For some reason people seem to think it's funny to make fun of Canadians and I've noticed this while being on a few sites. It really gets to me, what makes them think that they have the right to do it? At times they don't even seem to be 'joking' around but hey, all hell breaks loose if I dare say something back to them right? Well that's my little story of disrespect. :@
you let one of the service idiots install an OS on your computer? I don't even trust manufacturers these days.
But yeah… they're all idiots. fuck with them. Ask them to do shit and then make it impossible for them to do my configuring your computer a certain way. make a cron job that jfucks up your computer (to a fixable level) while they are working on it :)
Totally unrelated to hacking or computers, but… One time I was hanging out in a park, with my girlfriend and two of my friends. My friends are in musical theater, and not exactly evil-looking, and my girlfriend is just kinda a hippy, but I'm a metalhead, and I suppose I would look slightly threatening to the average prejudiced little kid. Anyways, we're in the park, one of my friends is riding my girlfriends new bike around (some vintage one speed beach bike, sky blue btw) and another one of my friends is trying to get on, its moderatly loud, but then me and my girlfriend are just standing there, and this little kid (about seven-eight) comes up to us with a walkie-talkie (with her mom on the other end), and says: "Um, my mom, like, told me, that if I saw any teenagers in the park, that they have to be out by sunset, or its against the law." I get pissed, my girlfriend lives in the rich white neighborhood thats right next to the park so she knows the girl and starts trying to justify ourselves, I tell her to mind her own business, etc. The girl breaks down and runs away.
Theres also this lady, with two kids, about 5-7 and 2-5, who lives in a house next to the park, and she's called the police on me and my friends for sitting in the gazebo. Not after dark, not doing drugs, not tagging it, just sitting there. She's tried to convince the neighborhood to take the roof off of the gazebo, because "its become a home for vagrants and teenagers" and recently, had railings put on the benches to divide them into three parts per bench, abbout four feet each, so homeless people can't sleep there.
People disrespect other people all the time, and people disrespect teenagers in paticular all the time. It could be because they think you don't know anything because you're 13, it could be because you wear black and are therefore a criminal, or if you skateboard, or for any other reason. I have more stories like this than is at all just, going from retail places to school to pretty much any place you'd care to name. THe world is filled with injustice and disrespect, because people are ignorant and fearful, and until that changes, this'll continue to happen.
