This seems too good to be true

There will be something behind it. It's either a PR stunt or something. Microsoft don't do anything unless they'll make money out of it in the long run

It may seem too good to be truth, but ms don't do anything if they won't make money on it, and I think that it looks very suspicious.

I'm going with PR stunt, with a small chance that they are doing it as a "good will gesture"

All this would be is a nice way for microsoft to attempt to make back their losses to Novell and Linux. Novell is doing this because they are also loosing ground.

Microsoft are not stupid. this will not be a free service. Novell server side SuSE is not free you are supposed to pay for it. Just like Red Hat and many other Operating systems. Open Source DOES NOT MEAN FREE. I cannot stress this enough. all that open source means is that you are legally allowed to alter the code when you own it. you still may have to pay for the software. So microsoft is looking to gain way in the open-source market.

They are smart and they know what they are doing. no it will not be free but it will be open source.

Hope that helps anyone with doubts.

yes, that may be true but theres also "if you cant beat 'em, join 'em"

this could be good on both sides, microsoft will get its $$$ and a better os, and Novell will get more sales
