LSD

Ive been reading up a lot about LSD or ACID It was created by albert hoffman in the 30's and the CIA began to try and use it as a bioweapon. IT was made illagal later on In the 60's people took up to 200 micrograms thats only about 1/10 of a grain of sand It only takes 20micrograms to cause an effect 2 suitcases of LSD is enough for the whole US population

The effects of LSD can vary greatly, depending on factors such as previous experiences, state of mind and environment, as well as dose strength. Generally, LSD causes expansion and altered experience of senses, emotions, memories, time, and awareness for 8 to 14 hours. In addition, LSD may produce visual effects such as moving geometric patterns, "trails" behind moving objects, and brilliant colors. LSD does not produce hallucinations in the strict sense but instead illusions and vivid daydream-like fantasies, in which ordinary objects and experiences can take on entirely different appearances or meanings. At higher doses it can cause synesthesia. The drug experience sometimes spurs long-term or even permanent changes in a user's personality and life perspective.

It can also cause religous experiences The reason i am very interseted in it is of the intelectual trip It opens up your mind - makes you more creative Computer programmers sometimes use it When they get stuck on code it opens up different parts of the brain

It can cause the highest level an experience called a psychedelic experience level 5:

Total loss of visual connection with reality. The senses cease to function in the normal way. Total loss of ego. Merging with space, other objects or the universe. Reaching to the beginning or the end of space and time. The loss of reality becomes so extreme that it defies explanation. Dream or movie like states, people have been reported seeing themselves in entirely different settings than their original setting. Earlier levels are relatively easy to describe in terms of measurable changes in perception and thought patterns. The only thing still reported to be working at a recongnizable level, is the mind's voice of thought. Much is unknown about what a person actually experiences during this period, because most people actually come back explaining the experience as "unexplainable".

Many users experience a dissolution between themselves and the "outside world": cognitive differences between subject ("I") and object ("me", "you", "it") break down or seem absurd

Bill gates has taken LSD so has Steve Jobs of Apple Computer He described it as "one of the two or three most important things he has done in his life"

I believe LSD can open your mind to understanding and knowing I have never takin it partly because im too young, its very hard to obtain, And i want to be in the perfect setting to take it in If you take it in a good place that you enjoy being in with friends is the best place If you take it unknowilgly or in a bad setting it can cause a very bad trip you probably would need a person not under the influence of it around because it can cause you to do some dangerous things such as beliving you are imortal and walking onto the freeway It is not addictive and does not cause permanent bodily harm The only permant thing it may cause it personality change which may not be a bad thing

If you have experienced it post your experince percentages of people that have taken it have gone down quickly in the past few years partly because of the media

If you want to read more: Artist perception Wikipedia Thier are more links off of that page

very interesting read.

i'll tell you a story about my old film studies teacher. about 5 years ago he was out with his mates taking LSD. (he was about mid 40's at the time).

They were outside and walking up to the top of a hill in our area so they could look out over the city. on the way there, whilst tripping… they came across some graffeti that some kids had drawn on someones driveway leading into some woods….

but because they were on LSD, my film teacher didnt think it was grafetti, he thought it was alien markins for a landing / abduction site.

this triggered a bad trip and from then on he thought he was abducted by aliens. Even after the trip finished, he still vividly believed he was abudcted by aliens and the markings were for a alien landing site.

He believed this to the extent he suffered a severe nervous breakdown because his wife woudlnt believe him when he told her.

Luckily he's recovered now and it didnt affect his family. He actually wrote a book about it. no idea what teh book is called though.

and in regards to drugs. back in the days i use to be a extrmeely heavy dope smoker to the point where i got psychosis after a few years. But i dont regret doing it at all. has deffiantly made me the person i am today which i feel is a great improvement. more confident, faaarrr more logical, and in my opinion more interesting.

just my 2 cents :)

(btw im not condoning the use of drugs!)

thats true Drugs dont have to be a bad thing as long as you dont become a street urchin Haha LSD can cause some pretty crazy things to happen but if you take it under the right setting it can be the best experience of your life
