Study Group
I, like most people here, am still in school. I spend a large portion of my time on a computer instead of doing school work, and I thought it would be a good idea if we set up some sort of study group for people who need help with math, science, english, etc. The other members could help out people with stuff they are good with, and could get help from others on stuff they have trouble with. Personaly, I am good with math, and science's, but I suck at english.
If this sounds like something you might be interested in, send me a PM, or post here.
**Note this wouldnt be through hbh, most likely through a chat service like aim, or msn.
I don't really have any trouble with school, but if anybody needs help with beginning Geometry, Algebra, or anything below that you can PM me. I am only in 8th grade so I don't know that much, but I am in honors courses. It is just my french that I need to work on.
And surprisingly, I almost failed comp lit last quarter, because I didn't do anything they told me to do because I told them that making a PowerPoint is an everyday thing, so, I failed that part of the course.
i think this is a great idea I think like a new section in the forums would be cool Like "school help" by the off topic section? I dont have any trouble at all in school and i can prolly help some people out Im in 10th grade so i can help with most things not above that level
*Hey net fish are you an electrical engineer? thats what im most likley going to major in in college
It would be a good idea, because obviously there are at least a few smart people on a programming site. I'm in grade 8 but every year I am top of my class, and I run the schools website (well, it has to be re-connected for the year) and I am starting miner robotics at some point this year. Good idea, and I agree. It could very easily be put in the off-topic section in a new school help forum.
Could work out really well. I don't like using aim/msn (I think everything we say should be posted in public.)
We could set up a site (with php) and assign, I don't know, erh, 3 admins/moderators. They just maintain the site. All the regged users could ask something or help other people out. This could go further then common school-work but also help with programming languages or something.
I really like the idea. We would create a "help"-community, that is afflicated with hbh but has his own community (like hbhzine?).
We just need to gather some people who are willing to:
- code
- maintain
- use the site.
(I would like to help out, I can't code anything but still, I would like to get involved/help with anything ;), just lemme know)
Thats a good idea, haveing a school help section on these forums. I also like the idea of haveing a site specificaly targeted at "study groups" where people could get help/help people. What do you guys think, i'd be up for buying a domain/hosting for the site if people wanted to help me code it (if thats what you guys want :p).
We wouldnt be giveing people answers, more of just helping them understand what it is, and how to do it. The idea I had was that it would be a php fusion type layout, with the navigation being links to the forum topics. Any input on this idea, would be nice. Also I was trying to think of a name for the site. I came up with "WorldStudyGroup.com" but thats just the first one that came to my mind.
i dont need help but i already tutor at school so why not here too :
I tutor in
Biology Chemistry History(World , Government, US) Math(Algerbra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry) English(Grammar, Writing and Composition) Psychology Enginerring(Electrical, Drafting, Mechanical, Computer) Music(I played Trumpet for 6 years and can help out with classes such as Music Theory) Graphics Art Philosophy
- Ive taken pretty much every AP course out there and have passed with a great understanding of the course*
Im currently a Junior so dont expect things above my skill level. BUt anytime
EDIT I dont mind holding the help community over at HBH Zine. I can add a forum for the help things.
