hosting packages

alright, I know I have come to forums before looking for advice on hosting packages. but i am coming up with nothing. well some things but I was wonder if anyone had anything that I hadn't come across yet.

its' not much, i just want no ads, a subdomain name (cause cant afford domain name) and FTP. and they exist so please dont post here saying good luck with that buddy cause they dont exist.. I just dont really like the subdomain names. Freeservers has nice short ones but they are bottom banner and top banner and one on the side you can disable so I wouldnt recommend that to anyone if they are looking into it. their other packages are fine though.

also, I am setting up this big site (non hacking related) I was wondering how much bandwith i should be looking at. its for an organaztion where a bunch of other organizations can advertise on linking back to their websites. for that I am looking at Dot5hosting, start logic and lunarpages? anyone else have any suggestions for either of these questions??

I would suggest the best way to go is host it out of your house. That is what I do with http://aldarhawk.homelinux.org http://aldarhawk.homelinux.net and http://aldarhawk.homelinux.com

You wouldn't need to leave your monitor on all the time….

i dont think he's really worried about his moniter, unless he has some uber power using one, i am also interested about homelinux

lol noo its just it would run up the electric billl alot and i dont have any money and with that rate i would just buy some ridiculious cheap hosting and take advantage of it.
