Why?!?!?!

Ok As your all probably aware im a newbie and its for tht reason tht im writting this wether anyone will read it is a completley different storey

Basicly the point of this is, is why experinced hackers / coders with the expection of a few always take the piss out of newbs an treat them like shit? in my eyes your always learniing no matter how experiaced you are and to top tht off to become experienced you once had to be a newb so you knew what it felt like yet a majority of the experianced hackers are not breaking the cycle of "be nasty to the newb" see eveyone says keep HBH alive an Live on HBH but with a majority of the members of the community not taking the time to help the "newbs" become more of what they want to rather than just abusing them an making them feel tht they shouldnt be here, then it will never really be a true community we're all supposed to be learners her an one of the ways in which we learn is by asking "never Stop Asking Questions" but constently we're made to feel tht asking questions is bad why? dont get me wrong you've got ppl tht help like System_Meltdown but us newbs need guidence i personly love this site its amazing but it is just a shame tht you have ppl not willing to help

yea, i totally aggree with that, though some of the "newb flaming" ive seen has been justified, a lot of it is a bit harsh,

The problem which some newbs have is that some are impatient. I have once have my PM box with 12 messages asking for help. I answered all but it took me 3 days to do all the questions justice. The key is being patient.

I'm sorry if you've had a hard time but feel free to ask me for help if you need it

like i said there is exeptions to the rule but must of it is just the experianced ppl assuming tht the newbs arnt thinking for themselves dont get me wrong on the newb front you do have a lot of ppl tht just want answers an not really do anything i know it works both ways

im not gonna pretend im any good at all but i help people who ask for help.. and when i started i found everyone very helpful. i presume they still are. so dont expect people to jump straight to help you.. some answers require time to write down. and as for newb bashing i havent seen any.. ive been away for a week so maybe the was a spate of it while i was gone.. but generally people on HBH are helpful and nice. there is a procedure to follow when you ask something.

  1. google it. 90% of all questions will be answered at this stage
  2. post a thread. the remaining 9% will be answered here.
  3. ask someone you KNOW. dont ask a random person, and you should get some good answers.
  4. ask someone you dont know. only use in the unlikely event that the first three dont work.
  5. THE LAST RESORT. if your question is a matter of life and death and there is a limit on how long you can wait– THEN AND ONLY THEN do you spam a random persons pm box with hundreds of pms.

i could name someone woh did number 5 to me but happily they never actaully got into HBH and left.. another thing. add people on msn or aim and ask them there. its polite and good for your social life.. lol

pplm are not as helpfull as everyone believes i dont deny tht some ppl do help but imagine (althought you probably dont have to) being a newb an just tryna better yourself an no one helping you didnt learn where a different country was without asking you didnt learn how to tie you shoe laces without asking an being shown thts what this is a bout you gotta ask an be shown, whats the point in telling some one to google if the dont know how, yeah you lot get frustraited with newbs asking questions all the time but us newbs get frustrated with our selves coz we cant do summin an we feel the ppl we look upto an wanna work towards being like are ignoring our calls

differant countries position = google earth shoe laces = http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/knots.htm (google it) there is a special word for people who cant use googe. its called luddite. and im not saying im not a newb. youve done alsmost as many challanges as i have. i also get frustrated with not being able to do things. but i persevere. trying and learning is more rewarding than instant gratification. like what do you want us to do?? give you spoilers??

[edit]spelling mistakes, found link to learn to tie your shoes[/edit]

i know what you mean but sorry to say it but you seem just like them it seems asthough you cant see what im say lol no i dont what spoilers i like to do them myself an i dont like asking for help but being tht i cant do it i will have to, like for instance the Encryption challanges i aint got a clue were to start with them but does any one help no

all im saying is maybe ppl need to be a bit more sensitive to the newb coz it aint easy learning anything especially not with ppl allways knocking you down

and thanks for finding the link on tying your shoe laces after 20 yrs i can finally do them properly lol

[edit]its quite scary the different ways of tying shoe laces[/edit]

all im saying is that you shouldnt expect to be spoon fed while your here. the point is to learn.. not to get points really. as me good m8 tancurrom said: > its better to be a good hacker on low rankings than a high ranked dumbass

i totaly agree with you

but sometimes a bit of guidence would go along way

dont get me wrong there's alot of newbs out there tht same as hackers give us a bad name

all tht im saying is sometimes dont just assume tht the newbs not thinking for him self

Dont Assume Coz It Makes A ASS Out Of U And Me

simple.

theres a difference between a newbie and a noob. and depending what they/you are, then they/you will be flamed.

newbie: "hi there, i've never done a SQL injection before and i read a bit on google but its still confusing, can someone come online and give me a bit of a hand?"

noob: "yeah i been lik tryin XSS and shit on my m8's hotmail and it aint workin. any no how to actually hack dis hotmail shit?"

have a guess at which post will recieve help, and which post will get the member banned. thats how simple it is. flamming/help is based on attitude, not skill and experiance.

tht is true and thank you for your reply but after just reading the articals on your troubles with the SS and FBI my thread looks a tad Incompetent and completley Unnesercery (i know thts spelt wrong) just outta curosity is tht still all going on? also aswell how much bandwith an space would you need to run this site?

on another note, your reply is right an to be honest i suppose tht it was just my own frustrations thru my own lack of knowladge tht made me write tht
