U.S. meet up

Okay yall i was wondering if yall wanted to meet up. No not in the next month but maybe we can try and make a plan for next summer, that way people can make plans, save up ect. We would have to make a central point where everyone could meet up. Well lets get some talk up, if you like the idea say yes, if not say no. -hackthis-

I like the idea but I would have one issue….mom, dad, im a hacker. White hat of course. So i doubt i could do it unless i could coax my bro into helping me with it.

yea, i think thats the biggest problem right now, which is also why i set it a year from now. soh people can plan that and the average age of the US people is about 16-18 soh i figure a year everyone should be right around 18 and then should be able to get out. But i think this would be a really cool idea if people would want to do it. Ill head it up and getting everything set up if someone wants to help me that would be awesome

I agree and it would be sweet. My bro might be 18 at the time and he maybe cool and go on a road trip that ends up there. It would be cool but i cant guareentee that i will be able to go until i get into college, but even then it would matter on location.

w00t another person that will to go, well i dont know of the place yet, i was going to see where everyone is and than map it out and find something, also cost is going to come into play, and how much everyone is willing/able to travel. im in Florida

I would love to attend it; I can make a bunch of my "hacker" friends/wannabes to go. I'm an Electrical Engineering student (2 minors: Computer Science and Geographical Information Systems), so you'd see where my interest lies. I have 3 suggestions of places to meet:

1. Atlanta, GA
2. Philadelphia, PA
3. Washington, DC

I would love to host it, as I have many contacts here, and have a wealth of knowledge and topics of interest that everyone can profit from.

What do you guys think?

very good ideas, DC would be nice if we dont have many out on the west coast. Netfish wanna work on this together get it all planned out?

If i was to go, dc or philly would be best, especially if my bro gets accepted to UMD.

I think Atlanta is best for everyone. we have 2 FL, 1 KY, and other who haven't spoken yet. I will be able to easily get to ATL from Philly. HackThis and I, will be leading the conference. Any Ideas will be greatly appreciate… posted in the forum, or PMed to either of us.

SwitfNomad, would you like to organize it with me… since HackThis won't be as available as I would've wished. She can be a 3rd organizer (if possible), if not then we would need a volunteer. Can you be 2nd Organizer Swift?

I live in Indiana but I have my pilots license so it doesn't matter where it's held. Just wanted to say that I'd go if something was set up.

I am Canadian, so if it wasn't too far off, i could probably go…erm, i mean if i were to tell my parents i was going uhh…shopping…then take a random spontaneous bus to the states…i'm sure i could pull it off;)

soh where is everyone at, still good about this meet up? i havent heard much about it, soh i wanted to see what needs to be done, within about a month ill have my lap top soh i can set up spreadsheets about pricing places and activities, but thats something us organizers need to discuss coughcough lol

I live about 15 minutes north of atlanta, but I wouldn't mind driving a few hours for something like this.

sweet, sounds like we still have interest, yea im not sure where we would have it yet. like the earlier bulletin posts said, it would be this upcoming summer. becuase i think anything earlier is going to be hard. as a count how many would be able to do it this summer, and how old will everyone be? ill be able to do it and ill be 18 *yay rents have no say ;) *

I'm still interested, but my parents arent going to let me go….My damned brother got introuble earlier this summer. Needless to say that his idiodic actions affected me too. (he got caught doing something non-hacking related though.)

Me and netfish have been disgusing a few different ideas, and i'm pretty sure it's going to be in atlanta.Not sure about the date,maybe middle June?I know it's still a long ways till June, but any ideas for content you would like to see?

I'm in Florida so I could only go if it where near florida so if not I hope there will be some badass pics either that or I could use google earth and see what I missed..also if there is anybody in or near palatka,fl we could also have a mini meeting around there for those who couldn't go to the main event the location however is negotiable because I don't live in palatka just within that range.

In a few years me and Grind will be hosting (yeah grind you and me) a US HBH meeting for 1 WHOLE week.

Itll be in Orlando Florida sometime during the Summer so that people can fly in if they want. Itll be lots of fun.

-5 days will be split up into loads of events maybe even a few Team WEB WARS! Right there with your team :)

• last days will be fun and enjoyment such as UNIVERSAL Studios!

• o and i cant forget the fun for the gamers :) we will travel down to a club in West Palm Beach area called the "Vortex" and its a LAN place to play video games(unless i can find one in Orlando.)

Hey Guys,

Sorry for slacking off on the planning stages for the US Conference. To be honest with you, I really didn't spend any time really planning it. I have too many things going on, and things that I'll be doing next summer:

a. Defcon 2007 b. Mission Trips c. Engrg. Classes

However, what we can do is organize some HBH people that want to meet up in last vegas, and represent HBH. I already have 6 of my genius friends going (these guys are good, for server rooting, robotics, and WiFi challenges… and drinking games).

I'll also be going - So, I'd love to see HBH Members @ Defcon!!! We need to represent our community at a big conference like that… I'm sure we'll get higher recognition, and more respect. For all of those interested, I'll be creating a thread later on to tally the number of people interested in going (and who can come up w/ some money to do so). It'll be worth it.

Most of my friends who went said it was WORTH it.

NOTE:
If anybody can host the HBH Conference this summer, then be my guest… (I'll attend, and help to the best of my ability by talks, etc).

Well if somebody could get the meeting in Atlanta going, then I'll most likely be there :)

well im still trying to get everything together, with teh mix of life, everything has gotten crazy. But yea ill try and get some more plans up and running here soon. Also if anyone would want to help me please feel free to contact me
