Stereotypical Hacker Music
If you are thinking along the lines of Techno there are many.
Stunt, Underworld, Prodigy, Aphex Twin, Orbital, Boards of Canada, Thievery Corporation, Robert Miles, Astral Projection, Blue Planet Corporation, Cosmic baby, Da Rude, DJ Mystik, DJ Mad Wax, DJ Tiesto, Hardfloor, Kamasutra, Komakino, Lawnmover, Mobile, Nemo, Nexus 6, KLF, Propellerheads, Roller Girl, Scooter, Temple of Acid, The Advent, The Future Sound of London, Union Jack, Wicked Wipe, X, Massive Attack, Sven Vath and DJ Shadow.
That is all I can think of off the top of my head. If you have others PLEASE add to this list :P

tottaly agree. I myself like metal and hardcore (strange combination isnt it?) but other hackers might like something totally different so i'dd say there is no "stereotypical hacker" music

Which reminds me, Robert Miles - Children (Dreams Version) is pucker.
Stereotypical hacker bands?
I think that you are trying to become a hacker by doing things like a hacker. This is a logical way of doing it but not always the best. I would suggest to you to stick with the music you like and listen to that. Yer, its good to listen to other music which other people like you listen to but really there isn't anything "stereotypical" about a hacker
