HBH Zine Staff Recruitment
Hello, over the past few weeks, me and Hack4u have been working independantly on the zine. Its starting to pick up and we feel its time we get a dedicated staff together.
We are only accepting 6 total positions, and it may be a while before we let more join in.
Our vision for the magazine is now to be as professional as possible and make it the best we can. We are going to be ditching the previous issues and starting new with a hard copy issue which will be able to be printed.
Articles will be about the hacker culture, it will be more personal and not so much a tutorial. We will be using all of our own media also.
So if you feel you can be a dedicated staff member, know how to spell and make sense with sentences, or maybe are really good with photography, we are looking for you.
Please post here what you will be able to do for the zine, and how often you will be able to help.
Current Recruited Staff Members (2/6) BobbyB - Writer/Editor Monster - Graphics/Writer
I will personally private message you if you have been accepted into the staff.
Yes, all previous staff members, sadly inactivity, no checking in, hard to get in touch with, just doesnt cut it. Everyone has been cut and if your looking to join back in, youll need to be post quickly.
Here is the cover of the upcoming issue. http://www.hbhzine.com/frozenflame/issue1.jpg
Regards, Frozen Flame
see thats the beauty of being in the staff we trust you to write about anything.
hacker culture is something new that we are going for. -clothes -computer programs -activites
it doesnt have to be all computer sure there will be tutorials but this is more for a read. something like a professional mag. intersting stuff. thats wat you write about.
you all can take a look at the first issues cover.
this is its first appearance. as i just finished it.
Hey, I'd be interested in a position as a writer/editor! I'm online ALL THE TIME and I'm pretty much always available! (lol, I have no life) If you're interested, I could write some articles on various computer troubleshooting issues. I just completed a PC repair course and this would be a great opportunity for me to help out others! :) Also, I think it would be interesting for readers to view a female's perspective on the hacking culture. Who knows? It might encourage more of us to get involved in the hacking community! ;)
in that case i shall write a little more: why you should choose me:
I can be damn sure to get to you every week, i do this at school and am at school every weekday. I love writing about things i love, and i love hacking and computers. I'd really like to write some stuff that concerns how-to's and the like, but also pieces about new hardware/software reviews cool/interest/funny/you need to check this out type stuff as well. I think it'd be fun.
good luck to everyone who's trying out
Richo

I want to. :D
Wow… It looks like I got here just in time!… I hope so atleast lol. Anyways, I'd definetly like to put my name in for consideration too… Mainly I'd like to apply for a writing position. But it would be a lie if I said that I wasn't interested in the editor and photographer positions too. Alas, not much experience in the area of graphics and design so I don't see myself as being too much of an aid in that aspect. But along the line of credentials, several high school level and college level english courses (Not that I particularly enjoy grammar, but I did learn it to appease the theachers… rolls eyes) I enjoy writing and have been told that I'm fairly decent at explaining things in a way that most can understand… I have a higher than average grasp of hacking and programming (as I hope my rank and standing on HBH will accredit). I enjoy hacker culture and everything else that goes with it, though unfortunately being from Illinois there aren't too many local hackers. But every once in a while I do attend conventions and such in Chicago. Anyways, before this turns into a full fledged novel I guess I should wrap it up… Up to you guyz! I'll be away for the rest of this week probably, but I'm getting back Sunday. So feel free to leave me a pm or something if I'm accepted… Peace!
I think i should be a staff of HBH Zines because:
-
I went from nooblet to decent and barely with out asking, i now know loads of hacking
-
I think also that i should be a staff member because being a member of HBH means i know exactly what the noobs and even the un noticed elies want like for instance you said on HBH Zines "HBH Magazine" when i viewed the site, and thats all it said along with tune into the radio so i was wondering lots of stuff like when is it coming out, why is the site being remade, how much will this cost etc tec and no body knew the answer you just told us HBH Magazine. So I can help with what should be needed and done about this kinda stuff

I am a very trust worthy person
Those are the reasons i wanna ecome a new staff member
i believe i could be a valuable member to the HBH zine in that i would enjoy writting articles about hacker culture. And im not gonna bullshit ya ,i dont think id be much valuable anywhere else to tell you the truth. Im new to hacking and have been a faithful member of HBH and you can see me regularly on this site. Hacker culture (i.e. clothing and what not) i think would be something Id be able to do. I want to be able to help out and really this is the only thing Id be good at doing. Hacker culture is something im sure i could write about. Im good with deadlines and im good with knowing my place. Itd be nice to give it a try but id understand if a position went to someone more experienced

i think id make a valuable staff member. though im goin to bed. u can add me on msn (inforedeemer@hotmail.com) or w/e u want. accept me or not. its up to you. the one thing that i will say is that im infront of the computer all day long soi would have tons of time to work on w/e u want. thanks
I can write small things if you need me to, I can't be a full time staff person because I travel alot and sometimes can't do some stuff, but I am a nattural word smith (as long as I have spell check, lol) and can type up on subjects really fast. You would need to give me the subject and I can write up and research in like two or three days (so long for research if I don't know about it.) So if you release the next day and thnk you need an extra article: PM me or email me at valvefire@gmail.com wiith what you want me to write about and I'll key it up fairly quickly.
Just incase, it is now on the table, NC
