Indie cannot be defined as it is not a genre it is a method of self promotion…. the original "indie" bands were so called due to them not being signed but going "indie" and recording ans releasing on their own. therefore by this definaition any band that is not signed by a record company but releases cds payed for by themselves are indie. look it up if you dont believe me
