what do you like most about hacking?
first this: I'm low profile, I like to keep things like this to myself, only close friends know I'm into hacking. The nice bit about this is that you can suprise/shock people by doing hacking related stuff without letting them know you're a hacker. I simply love it. When you're at school or somewhere else you can do stuff with a pc no-one else can, not even your teacher, how cool is that? Suprise anyone by just showing those tiny little hacking things, never the big ones. It's just lovely when you see their faces and not showing your a real hacker…
now, what do you like most about hacking? ;)
Ahhhhhhhh thank you system_meltdown!;)
First I'd like tothak HBH and System_meltdown for properly introducing me to hacking! :)
I like hacking because of the rush of adrenalin after doing nothing but solid typing for a hour.:o I like working out and cracking puzzles and the idea of defacing someones pride and joy (Nothing rude honest).:| I like making people kiss cubeman's cyber axe!:@
as willeh said, i enjoy the rush i get from performing a well planned out hack. Also knowing that you are truley pissing off and getting noticed any everyone who is effected.
For instance, if you have just carried out a superb hack on a racist community, and you see them getting ridiculasly pissed off about the attack… whilst your sitting their with your "victory beer" reading their pathetic flame attempts. personally that just cracks me up.
I really enjoy hacking, because it give you a sense of power and enables you to** truley make a difference** over something you might not be able to via other methods….
I like the knowledge you earn and the power you have. + the adrenaline when you are close to what you want to reach (most of the time the password)

–> mostly the same here :)
I like discovering new things, and figuring out ways to get past whatever the admins have setup.
Also, seeing that root prompt come up is a great sight. So is watching a Win32 box return NT_AUTHORITY/SYSTEM to your whoami command (its a reskit command).
But like I said above, its mostly about figuring things out. Like you've spent hours doing recon, and then suddenly figure out that you can scan through the targets border firewall with fragmented SYN/FIN packets or the like…
