Music Software

I am looking for some music software like i had a few years back, it was not looped but you could dictate the precise note, and there was a number of styles, it was laid out like sheet music and you could drag and drop the notes or use a keyboard,

does anyone know of any software like this?

I use Finale Notepad. It lets you write sheet music and listen to a midi rendering of it to hear what it sounds like. Not sure if you can get notes from a keyboard, but maybe.

Man that is close, just one observation, the design is similar, except instead of the noted instruments, it did it channel style, so one channel was one instrument, apart from that it looks almost identical

Yeah my guess is Sibelius, too. [Edit] It may also be Reason, although I've never used it I've been told you can do that kind of stuff with it.

Try FL9. It's awesome.

Try a good microphone, instruments and some simple audio mixing program. It's awesome.
