ZF0 Blackhat briefings ZF05.txt
anyone here heard about ZF0 (xero for 0wned)? I just heard about them today. they killed DarkMindZ, along with quite a few other security based sites and owned some notable white hat hackers. in their hacking attempts, they got about 75,000 passwords (as their txt says, and shows, they have passes, not hashes) I had been wondering why DMZ was down for the past few weeks. if anyone is interested in finding out more, they uploaded the log of their hacking, along with their comments. the file is called ZF05.txt (use google inurl: ) read at you're own discretion, their comments are much more vicious than probably necessary. this just shows how scary a place the internet can be, people who sell security, and they were completely and utterly hacked and left with nothing.

It's been down longer for that. And if you payed attention they didn't actually take down darkmindz, from what they stated romeo did when he got involved in the recent anti-sec movement. Whether i believe romeo is really responsible or not idk. He brags a little to much to go for just defacing under the name anti-sec and not throwing his own name in on plausable hacks like imageshack and astalavista etc.
I use DMZ a lot for some of the questions I have, but it's only been a few weeks that I couldn't access the site, but even before that, the site was starting to deteriorate, like the login form wouldn't show up, instead generating a php error, and just a whole lot was broken or not working. I didn't really get much time to look into the whole thing, I just wanted to know why it was down, so I googled news for darkmindz and that was like the first 5 results.

Yeah, I've read about that too. Seems like he was just hanging around with the anti-sec guys, like being "down" with them.

He'll do anything to be cool. Plus i think he has multi personality problems…okay so he was all pro disclosure and sharing with a "friendly" hacking community. (yeah..sure) adn the name… darkmindz??? Yeah sounds uber friendly (of course hellboundhackers??? nvm) Then he's all like i'm hardcore brag brag… now he's supposedly anti-sec and anti skiddy bragger etc etc??? W/e lets him fit in…
Seems like ZF0 know they're being douchebags and proud of it. I don't mind some of their targets, but targeting prominent people like Dan Kaminsky will sully the hacking scene, and why the fuck do they have to target PerlMonks and Hak5?
They're being jerks, for all I care. It's as if they're the ones who tells us what the hell counts as "hacking" and not.

The reasoning behind these attacks are pretty much always stated in the magazines they publish. While you can disagree with their opinions and methods, I don't think you can accuse them of being vague on why they choose to attack certain targets/people.
