The Itouch

I've got iPhone, 1gen, hw unlocked, that was probably hack I was proud of the most. Other then that, you can do tons of shit with it, apparently even WEP cracking:)
I heard about some WEP cracking and so on.
A fun site to visit would always be http://planet-iphones.com/
The thing I find funniest about people who laugh at macs is that they usually run windows. Some even vista. Just consider that for a second. Vista. Are you really on the high ground? You might think you hate the elitism and the stuck up twats who own macs (were not all like that), but at the end of the day, it just boils down to jealousy and envy. If they were handing out macbooks on street corners you would take one, under the self-impression you were going to 'sell it' only to open your eyes and see it is just as worthwhile as a day-to-day operating system as any microsoft product. The hardware is well designed, the software equally so, its unix based, its cheap, its really nice to use.
On the subject of iphones/ipod touch(es), I havnt yet been bothered hack my iphone, just because I dont forsee me needing to crack wep on the go at any point. Free apps would be nice though :D

Dude, did you smoke crack today?
I can agree that some people may like the OS and the hardware is pretty nice built, but it ain't cheap!
90% of the price is because of the goddamn brand.
I was referring to the software, OSX is 80 quid for the standard version, no 'premium' bullshit. Vista is 120+ for the basic versions.
And its not a media OS. Its better for coding than windows, its nicer to use day-to-day. Plus for the stuff you need windows for, you can dual boot.
Im willing to bet most of you havnt used a mac for longer than a minute or 2, but are so ready to bash them. It takes some getting used to, but once you do its so much better, for 99% of the things we all use computers for.

Better for coding?
- GCC runs on Windows.
- I can just PuTTY myself a nice terminal and boot vim.
How do you mean "better for coding"? More fucking IDE's with flashy graphics? Better? Subjective term.

The word better is always subjective, it's opinion. Just like many of the things you've said in this thread.

Trying it is always a good idea, instead of taking other people's opinion of how good or bad it is. I'm with you on this, too.. I've never tried a mac but I wouldn't mind doing.
spyware wrote: OSx = butchered Linux/Unix. Windows = crappy MS code. Lol, "media OS". I'd take Windows XP SP2/3 over OSx any day. Yet both more supported in the whole than most linux/unix operating systems.
Now, I'm not usually the one to say this.. but getting off topic here?
back on topic: I've seen a friend use one for WEP Cracking and he came out successful. I suppose it's a lot easier than taking a laptop around for cracking wireless networks. but apart from memory upgrades and such, that's the only real thing I've seen anyone do on one other than the normal stuff.

Brb, going to manically laugh in a state of hysteria over your fine comment.
That's nice to hear. I'm glad you have plenty of fine comments to entertain yourself with. Did I just earn another sarcastic or insulting reply? Oh dear.
I got an iPhone and I for one I love it. Have not hacked it just left it the way it is..and I couldn't be happy with a phone.
Has a few bad points such as the screen errors now and again and goes blank but easily fixed by holding the home button and the off button together.
Also I for one love mac's never used to but they have grown on me. I am now saving one for me to do graphics work on aswell as video editing. I have versions of Linux, and I run Vista and Windows 7 and obviously did have XP and I must say all have features I like.
So to all you arguing about the choice of OS..all have good points and bad points jus' get what you feel comftable with or dabble with as many as you can.

Well said, I use mac 10.5 leopard (even have an old G-3 os 8.6) windows XPpro (My version) windows 7 (just getting into it) and all flavors of linux, Except ubuntu cause I said linux. The more you learn the better off you are. They all have up's and downs.
