Domain Name: MYSITE.COM Registrar: ENOM, INC. Whois Server: whois.enom.com Referral URL: http://www.enom.com Name Server: AUTHNS-WS.DCA.MYSITE.COM Name Server: AUTHNS-WS.IAD.MYSITE.COM Name Server: AUTHNS-WS.VGS.MYSITE.COM Status: ok Updated Date: 10-mar-2008 Creation Date: 07-sep-1995 Expiration Date: 26-oct-2013

Bingo. There's your problem, right there. Someone already owns that domain name. Sorry to break it to you :(

Set up your own DNS server using a pirated copy of Windows 2000 Server, have your buddies set your external IP as their DNS server, port forward 53 from your router to your DNS server, and make a static A record for mysite.com. Then, do your favorite endzone dance.

Basically the point of what everyone here is saying is that you cannot do this without help. If you are on a static IP address then you are laughing and setting up the DNS for this is a bit simpler. But if you are Dynamic Dyn is the way to go. If you have static and can install Bind9 on Linux then try setting up your own DNS server. to get the domain name…try eNom or GoDaddy to buy one.

If you have any thoughts let me know.

OP, look here: http://www.dyndns.com/ Damn it… caught again. :P Sometimes, I just get in the mood to see people do things the hard (i.e., educational) way. The suggestions about dynamic DNS are perfectly valid and good, though, and doesn't require any DNS setting changes, so… go with that.

If you have any questions, PM Aldarhawk… cuz he offered and he's a good guy. Sometimes. And cuz I don't need to get any more damn PMs than I already do daily, thx.
