coordinates > zip
Hey I have a set of coordinates that I need converted to a zip code however I cannot find any services to do this for me. Only the reverse way. I got the coordinates and used igigle to get it into google earth and well now I want to try the zip approach because I am not geting anything returned via coordinates. If you know of a free service please let me know.

Well, we know you don't know how to count but, despite that, I think you'd be able to follow even these directions:
- Obtain horses and a carriage (optional).
- Get in contact with a rich Englishman (funds) and a boat owner (travel).
- Drop by the cartographer's place and get some maps.
- Travel to the coordinates that you need the zip code for.
- Stop at a gas station there to ask what the zip code is.
Or, gee… maybe you could just find out what city / cities are at the coordinates, then try to find out the zip code for the CITY, not the COORDINATES. It's like everything you do is a monumental undertaking because you expect people to give you direct guidance like above instead of helping you with bits and pieces. Turn your brain back on… learning is more fun that way.

Come on thats not nice. He was merely thinkin there was a mathematical solution to his problem and did not know how to calculate it. It wasnt an ignorant question, he was merely thinking about it the wrong way.

No, that's the problem…. he wasn't even thinking about it. Didn't mention if he tried the two suggestions above his post or not, didn't mention how he was trying to rationalize it. He wasn't even trying, and you're defending that? Re-read the thread, then tell me how I'm being a smartass in an unjustified situation.
On top of that… after I did that, I gave him a proper way to think about it. Even with him being lazy, I still helped the guy out. Is that not nice? Just shut up.

It's called Google, you fucking moron. Jesus Christ… go to http://www.google.com and type in "zip code" followed by the name of the city or a city and a specific street address. It's not rocket science… it's probably the easiest thing to do on the planet. Quit being a lazy fucking waste of air and use that fucking paperweight between your ears.
chronicburst wrote: Dude I fuc***g live there. I just can't think of the zip code. You live there (meaning you already know exactly where the place is) and yet you decided it would be easier to somehow convert the coordinates (which must have taken at least a few minutes look up) into a zip code instead of just looking up the zip code? That's a pretty inefficent and illogical method.

And as offended as I am about that "paperweight" thing. Wow. That is an incredibly powerful rage. Hmm. Five bucks says i could find that zip code using google in under 5 minutes.
Not even wondering why you don't know the zip code for the place you live, but
http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp
didn't even take me 5 minutes.
You want to know the saddest part of all there bud. That I have a address phone down stairs with the phone number of my house and I would just reverse that and get the zip code. Maybe even the area code would do it. Which is '902'. What my real objective is, is to igigle the zip and some information on a friends computer and eventually get their email address because I no longer have the piece of paper it was written on and never used the contact before. I don't want to crack the email or anything like that. Just compose a message. And look what I turned this into. I have been on a google frenzy trying to track this person and nothing. I managed to get some track records and the department of all the school and I sent a message to the department of education stating I am moving there with my new family and would have my daughter going to the nearest school to the location. And when I get a hit on that email I will be looking for a student directory (which they wont have obviously), or any info I can use. Enough of that now. And no I didn't do this all from my local computer. All this for a friend. Not to mention how nonsensical it all is.

So, you live there… but, it's not where you stay? … Alrighty, then.

You can say that again. Have fun.
Well not the word live. I have a house there. Its been thrown around generation to generation. I 'live' in NY. But the house up there I visit every year and its pretty kick ass because no body gives a shit.
I probably could say that again. Knowing that want to get in touch with this person so badly. Well time to check the email.
