Who dislikes football here at HBH?
Ok, so the Euro 2008 season has finally started, so staying up late won't look so odd.
But to be honest, I'm not really a fan of football (or soccer for the Americans) and after chatting up with a couple of hbh guys on msn, I realized that some of them either hate or couldn't care less about it.
So I decided to start this thread to see how many people here in HBH dislikes football, just for a laugh.

I really am not too bothered about football,
I have many other interests and personaly do not see the attraction to the sport,
I dont mind playing on a sunny afternoon down at the beach once or twice a year for a laught but other than that its just not for me.
Whats everyone elses opinion on the topic, Me and fuser would be interested to know.

I don't like soccer, but I don't hate it. I'm not pitiful at it, I'm actually decent (well, when playing with my friends or in P.E. at school). I just don't like it very much. I'd much rather play (American) football, basketball, golf, tennis, or (sometimes) baseball. Or I can just post here and watch SportsCenter on ESPN… :D
Yeah, I like sports.

All the good shows are cancelled just because there should be hours and hours of football  Exactly my thought, other than that I have nothing against football, but don't care to watch it, play it, or go near it either.

yeah like one time there was supposed to show the final episode of Criminal Minds (season 2) and on the paper's TV programming showed the usual programming, until I turned the TV on at the exact time only to find out there was a football match going on. My sister remembers how pissed I was since it involved throwing stuff and screaming at trying to smash the TV (good thing they stopped me)
To make matters worse, on the following week, it started airing Battlestar Galactica, so I just bought the DVD to watch how it went.
and to jamie_90; I have to say that spyware is correct, since the football I'm talking in this question is also soccer. So your logic does indeed fail, I'm sorry to say so, especially with the double posting.
to system_meltdown: originally I wanted to say football, but I thought that if I use the word soccer, the damned Americans will at least know I'm not talking about NFL, thanks for changing it anyway.

"fuck America"…..Ok Bud .
I'm from America and I'll call it soccer ;). I hate soccer, its the lamest sport ever made. Foot ball and rugby are some bad ass sports. Basket ball is fun too but soccer is not a fun game to play OR watch in my opinion.
Most of us, HBH members, are guys. Most of those guys are complete nerds and think sporting is bad thing, because you can hurt yourself doing it or you can get tired. (Sorry for the stereotypish stuff) I am not like that. I enjoy all kinds of sports and I myself train at least 4 hours every week seriously. Not football, but that's not really the point. (As a matter of fact, we are ranked first in the national rankings for our age category.) Regarding football, I like to play it occasionally, with some friends. I wouldn't choose it as my profession, but I can understand some people do. I also like to watch a match on TV. I'm not that interested in the national 'eredivisie', but I do follow the European and World Championships and stuff like that. "Our country" beat the world champions with 3-0 last monday. I thought Sneijders goal was absolutely beautiful! :) I think we might make a reasonable chance to continue to the quarterfinals and escape the 'group of death' :D
4-1 Against France :D We'll continue to the quarterfinals!!! :ninja:
COM wrote: Bowling is the greatest sport in the world :P Football is just mass hysteria. Bowling does not require any big set of skills apart from just aiming that ball to ensure that it hits down as much pins as possible .football on the other hand does. example -passing ,ball control, dribbling ,tackling ,shooting, heading. Not to mention off the ball movement and postioning.it is a game that requires some level of athleticism, fitness and yes ,brain power.it also provides great entertainment to the fans.just watch games of maradona ,pele, zidane ,charlton and beckenbauer.
