define "techno" please? black metal/industrial is a different audience from house/club…

and does this have a purpose? ex: best techno to play for a girl, get high with, fall asleep to, etc…

and using the [url] tag doesn't hurt either

Well Since this is a called hellboundHACKERS.org I didn't believe people would think I was talking about what kind of tech no to finger my girlfriends butt hole too…

Techno-

Techno. Stylistic origins. Electro, industrial, synthpop, electronic art music… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techno It doesn't hurt to use that thing called wikipedia either.

Can you blow me? On the off chance that we ever meet. You sound like you are a natural.

================================================== edit: for the thread though, I listen to a lot of hippy music. Hotchip or 65 Days of Static may broaden your tastes beyond Sandstorm-like material.

I will assume you mean techno to code/hack to, seems like the most obvious kind. Check out:

Orbital Booka Shade Leftfield Kruder & Dorfmeister

for a start. Orbital and Leftfield are like the music from the movie hackers, booka shade is more electro techno (not as repetitve, I love it) and K&D can be quite chilled/dubby but still deff techno.

I love metal, but for some reason techno (which Ive only recently discovered about a month ago) gets me really feeling like a bad ass hacker when I'm trying to code an exploit or practicing php or whatever.

Note: I didn't say I am a bad ass hacker, but I feel more powerful for some reason :whoa: hahaha

Define techno.

Do you mean hardstyle, jumpstyle, trance, hands up, hardcore, or what?

Techno is a name given to music by people who do not know which genre, or subgenre, the track actually fits into.

Personally, I like the hard dance channel over at D.I. Its perfect for coding. Harder than trance, but has trance elements. Also, has a more driving beat than a lot of the other genres. Here is a link to the stream: http://www.di.fm/mp3/harddance.pls

Nah, techno is a genre, its just really broad, and has many sub genres to it.

Personally I prefer other music to techno but I know techno when I hear it.

In my personal opinion I believe trance and hardstyle are the best to code to… What do you think?

In my opinion, the music doesn't matter, the mindset does.

Very good point. But I can't start coding and feel encouraged if the Honky Tonk is blasting in my ear drum  I need something up beat and encouraging.

Music can provide stimulation that should have been provided by your brain.

Techno is basicaly the category . Then you have all of the subtypes .

To name a few :

Acid House Trance Hardcore Progressive Tribal Jungle

Some define many others in the subtypes , but i dont see em .

Things like :

Drum-n-Bass Electronic (wtf ? most of its electronic) Breakbeats

But yeah , my first list is what i remember techno sub-types bieng . Theres countless sub-types of techno (rave music) . If you could create an algorythm that could take all those and come up with all the combinations of what they would create that would be the realistic amount of sub-types . You name it the combo has been done . Hardcore-Acid-Jungle-Trance !

My favorite were always Acid-Trance , Jungle , & Hardcore . Then ofcourse any variation of the three . Im not prejudice either .

I dont like all Hardcore So to clarify i used to enjoy Gabber or originaly known as New York Hardcore (I guess) . I just new it was mean as hell . Fast , hard hitting , good bass , then some of the sound effects were rediculous . I remember one that had some star wars in it . Retarded ! This is going back to the mid 90's !

My jungle love is basicaly old typical jungle just straight jungle . But then "neuro funk" is decent as far as new jungle gos . But then this new "trance step" is to 80's for my liking . When i was last listening to it there was deep jungle or darkside . I didnt like most of the other stuff . But thats music for yah !

Finaly Acid Trance . Witch to me can loosely relate to Hard Acid or in other words Acid but faster ! Trance but better ! Something to get you off your ass and move .

Ill listen to anything from DJ Franky Bones to Acid Babys to Prodigy . On up to Lords of Acid , and beyond .

Go here this place is pretty neat , this guy spent some time on this :

To'g go bog e' , Neqtan

Well, i prefer metal and horrorcore when i code, something like Converge, Lamb Of God and Insane Clown Posse.

Sometimes a little slower stuff like Creed and Muse.

But if it has to be techno (wich i actually don't listen to that much) it's gotta be angerfist!
