They won't pay, trust me. They haven't done anything wrong.

i very much doubt torrentspy has £56 million.

i'd be surprised if the website had a net profit of over a few grand every year. hence why they are filing for bankcrupcy.

its shame torrent spy lost the legal battle. the facist music/film studios can have its illusion of victory, but all it means is another million users of thepriatebay instead.

I wish it's the other way around. Hell, i hardly remember any movies worth watching these days.

amen. in the last 3 years the only film i've watched at the cinema was Borat. Which I could have easily watched online, but in honour of Sasha Cohen I paid my money and went to see it. (Infact, I don't even watch TV anymore because the adverts anoy the hell out of me!)

Perhaps if the music and film industry didnt pump out so much shit, it might encourage people to purchase more.

My usual routine now is i watch all content online, tvshack.net etc and then if i really enjoy it, occassionally i'll buy the DVD. If that content wasnt pirated and put online in the first place, they would have missed my lovely DVD purchase.

I know for a fact many many other people do the same. Perhaps this method should be embrased as the new way to view media. Perhaps then the industry could take more pride and care in the media they produce. Instead of relying on two blockbuster films per year to cover the cost of 30 shit films a year.

I think its a joke realy . There attacking the site , since its all they can do . But in reality its just a group of people sharing information . They cant go after everyone (the seeds & leeches) for this .

If they did it would be a world wide multi billion person law suit .

Its funy to see big corp. lash out in desperation . Like fish out of water .

it's not so funny to be on the receiving end of a £56 million fine, due to big media studios not being able to keep up with trends and adapt their business model.

I think its disgusting how these companies treat file sharing websites and users. Every time these companies treat file sharers in this way, my defiance increases.

Remember… every CD and DVD you purchase directly funds the law suits these guys make.*

*Don't let my words discourage you from purchasing independant artists content. Those guys need the money to be rewarded for the time, effort and thought that goes into their work.

No your right , i didnt mean funny quite the way you took it . But more in the context of there struggle to keep control of this .

Its not funny to see the way people are recieving this kind of attack .

I agree with you about people funding the big corps. . I havent bought cd's or dvd's in years . I support free file sharing and think we the people should make a stand and demand lower prices that can convince us to go back to buying there materials . My defiance always increases the more i witness these atrocities wether be it govermental or corporate .

over here in Malaysia, bootleg DVDs are everywhere. There's even a store full of it next to the 7-Eleven near my housing center.

but the honeymoon will be over soon, though. The government (oh the fucking scum) wants to please the RIAA and MPAA (fucking scum) so they're going around raiding stores and confiscating illegal dvd making equipment.

In fact, I once read that they have serial numbers embedded in discs, so that it makes it easier to trace the pirates. I don't have any idea how is it supposed to work, besides, I just made copies of my games for a friend last week.
