In school. I'm asking the local computer repair shop for a freelance position sometime soon… gotta be 17 here to work in an electronics store >.<

Otherwise, i am an automotive reconditioning specialist. Meaning I do paint, fabric, leather touchup on cars, fix bumpers and glass, and that kind of stuff, scratch removal, all that. Basically, I get paid to drive Porsches and BMWs ^_^

But right now in school / babysitting + playing Halo3 :D

School + dishwasher.

Very coincidental, I got a job offer today. I can work as helpdesk guy at a ICT-package-selling place. Or something.

Anything related to web/computers/electronics/mobile phones. Sit in a computers hardware store.

Or a Taxi driver :D.

And will never be a teacher at school . Maybe teach something to people, but not at schools!

Some jobs I like, but won't be involved: (!)

Rapper, composer, some musical shits.

However, I have 3 years to finish up school, then turn to college; much time enough to change ideas.

Edit :

15's legal driving age here, and it's not very far… just across parking lots and stuff. Not like chauffeuring or anything :D

Haha, "so" you can work for bungie? Your daddy is gates or what? Get a grip on real life my friend. Bungie is quite exclusive, don't start at the end of the road, otherwise you won't have a run left.

in the real world, computers are the future. so don't stop learning :)

I agree, besides, you don't know what's going to happen in the globe, computer careers may be like the most traditional/common.

That's the way I see it, just thinking of the current trend, isn't as well as thinking of the upcoming.

it is quite true that especially in the UK, manual labour jobs are getting better paid than alot of Computer Jobs.

plumbers for example charge what they want because noone really wants to be one =p

but plumbers also have to come to people's houses…

I'm going to school, pretty bored even in computer classes… work at a bike shop

ya , computers are not the future…

THEY ARE THE PRESENT. every thing we do has something to do with computing or some type math which would be easier with a program.

I'm suprised you are a dishwasher. That was my first job, and I'm not sure, but I think my working conditions were illegal. I hated it. It's not healthy.

Now I'm trying to pass/ get away from high school.

I don't work, yet. I might get a job at Tim Hortons for some laughs, a ton of my friends work there.

Just need to fill out our happyhappyamerikkanworkingpapers.

Dude, you don't believe him do you? 45 grand a month? You need some respect to make that kind of money, and people who know about respect don't boast about their salary.

Then again, you are an American. Sucks really, your dollars "aint worth shit" in Europe anymore.

even if it was per month and even if its an outright lie, who cares? just be happy for the man that he has a succesful career…and if its a lie then just ignore it who cares

SET wrote: spyware you noob he said 45 a year not month

You are totally right. Dunno if this makes me a noob, but meh.

Anyway, lets do some math!

45 grand a year (American Dollars). We divide this in thirteen months (It's called 13th Month Pay Law in your country I believe).

45 grand / 13 = 3 461.53846 US Dollars. We convert this to Euro; 3 461.53846 U.S. dollars = 2 387.59723 Euros

So you earn roughly €2380 a month. And you boast about it. For an IT-guy you are not earning much (comparing to Dutch standards).

Anyways, who cares about money? Go pro be thief?

Okay, just so I have a legit contribution to this thread: Network Administrator. Now, for the eccentricities of others…

yours31f wrote: 3.school admin. (checkish) [i build websites for my high school.

You are a fucktard. Plain and simple. Building websites has not SHIT to do with being an admin. So, go uncheck that shit and check yourself.

SET wrote: no spyware it doesnt make u a noob, and thats great pay here in the US for a starting postion.

What you neglect to mention is that, as a coder in the U.S., you don't have many prospects after the $45K. The average coder in the U.S. makes no more than $60K, while the average security professional in the U.S. makes no LESS than $60K.

But, not everyone's cut out for that. So, to be fair, a starting entry-level programmer in the U.S. is lucky to get $45K; you are right about that. However, you may want to look into specializing in C# / Java instead of VB.Net if you want to enter a higher pay range.

ghost's Avatar

yeah you dont have to be a programmer (though you can make more than $45k as one) you can be a network administrator or like zephyr said a security proffesional. still $45,000 is solid as a starting pay, if you dont have a family to maintain and arent planning any vacations

in college doing IT, used to work as a store clerk and keeper for several months (i quit because it was too boring and i was getting to college)

i'll probably do admin jobs and scrape enough cash to start my own computer enthusiats magazine.

then as the editor, i'll make it my duty to piss corporations off by slagging about the company, the product, the employer and the employer's mother.

i will probably cover stuff like coding, security, hardware, maybe the scene, etc.
