linux sendmail email question

would it be possible to forge an e-mail domain, then forward the email sent back to that address to another inbox? sounds impossible to me but i saw someone saying you could achieve that

Unless I am mistaking your original post, no you cannot. You cannot receive mail sent to a domain you don't have access in that manner. If you change the reply-to, however, you can mislead people enough.

Think a little about the implications of this if it were possible; email would likely no longer be used in its current form, or significant changes to message/address validations would pop up.
