Well, I don't believe you should be so concerned with hacking skills, much less IP's, perhaps challenges such as proper English might be more necessary, and more helpful.

usually when i get random 'can you help me' pm's i respond with 'sure' and then i never get a response back. apparently people aren't very motivated.

That's awesome. Maybe they don't want help so much as to think that is there. Also, is it just me or does it seem that the vast majority of help requests are poorly written?

yeah, half the time i can't understand what people are asking me. that's why i just say 'sure'.

i usually reply actually. i mean we were all hardcore noobs once. i dont put lots of time into it, often just find them a few links to read up on.

i used to have a section in my MSN contact list for users that had added me from HBH.. i talk to them sometimes.. mostly for laughs..

i got a PM from a user once, asking me to help them make a site. when i asked them why ther'd picked me they said "coz you had the coolest name"

so the solution to all annoying PMs, IMs, and emails is this:

have a crap name.
