don't get up at me 'cause i'm not googling this problem or reading old threads and/or posts. but i think this could be a damned sight faster and more effective than doing either of those two things so just hear me out.

how would i go about preventing an a-grade hacker from gaining access to a computer through a pre-determined ip address? if possible i pose the question 'how would they do it' as well, but that's a litle futher down on my agenda here.

i am no hacker. i don't try to pretend to be, that's why i'm doing this. i don't pride in preventing somebody from hacking a comuter, i just want to stop them in the most effective way possible. for this i turn to anybody who might be of assistance.

i would give you more information about how the attacks are affecting the computer, but it's not me who is being targeted.

so please, any suggestions, thoughts or information would be greatly appreciated. anything really.

If you really want to stop them, unplug the network cable.

Seriously, if you're not going to even try to research your question to make it a bit more specific, then you're not going to get real answers. Being lazy doesn't entitle you to anything more than it does anyone else on these forums.

**-god- wrote:**begs..begs…a-grade hacker..some more begging and then some prewashed ethics

giving the hacker an A- pretty hillarious. but what would you do if he's an A+ hacker?

uh huh, you seriously think i meant 'A-'…. i won't even bother with that reply any more.

i would give more information but it's not my computer. all i can say is that it has windows XP (probably 2000), SP2 and a potentially comprimised unknown firewall that the hacker configured. he hasn't access the the local network i don't think. and as far as i know the only 'network' there is is shared between two computers via the internet router (don't know what type it is). it's an external attack as far as i know. i know it's stupid of me to try and help here with so little information, but really, what alternative do i have?

don't get pissed off 'cause i'm not researching this as much as i should, but as i said. i'm not a hacker, i don't use this site nor look at it much. you tell me what information you need to me to get for you to be able to help to any extent and i'll see what i can get.

cheers?

alright here's what you do

  1. get some potassium nitrate and some grounded aluminium (mesh 400)

  2. hollow out a chap stick container

  3. mix the potassium nitrate and grounded aluminium and pour the powdered mixture into the chapstick container and put the cap on.

  4. poke a hole with a pin into the cap and stick a wick in it.

  5. light it and stick it in a hole somewhere in your friends computer.

  6. go behind a concrete steel reinforced wall.

make multiples for multiple computers

well I havn't opened a computer in like 5 years so bear with me but I think its the one that connects to the powersupply. If you cut that one you you will have control over the world and all its gooyness. But I think the gray one connects to the cd drive. Am I right or wrong on this.

hmm, i'm more for the whole 'sodium in water' thing. but i don't think it's very helpful with this particular problem.

better yet you could put a chunk of potassium in a pool and tape it as the firey ball shoots back and forth. Or he could solve his own retardedness by mixing chlorine with ammonia then inhaling the result.

i heard a great one: put the hardisk into the microwave! that should give you some nice fireworks to look at…

  1. open your oven door
  2. put your head inside
  3. turn on

nah, what i'd do is get a crappy old box, install Xubuntu on it, and get smoothwall express 3.0.. then you've basically got a hardware firewall for free.

pick up a box at your local landfill site, xubuntu needs practically no spec, and smoothwall 3.0 is perfect for preventing crackers from getting hold of your credit card details

actually going with the first option of disconnecting the network cable would actually be the most effective. otherwise you could always use a firewall and block all inbound and outbound connections… beyond that if a hacker has a will then most likely they will find a way around it. Unfortunately firewalls still are not perfect, nor are IDS's. So the only perfect way to keep your computer completely safe is to turn it into slag and then drop it in the meridian trench… even then i would be hesitant

i think those description are accurate for a matter of fact. but then whats the black cable, i do remember that there are three seperate wires.
