A Message To All Flamers
Hello,
I would like to clarify some points to all people who flame others out there.
Either way they deserve it or not and regardless if they are newbies or not :
-
It shows your lake of social skills and communicating with people.
-
It shows that you are a selfish person who don't want to share his knowledge (even if thats not who you are).
-
It makes you look like a jerk bragging about things he know.
-
It gives a very bad first impression about your personality.
-
You might be making enemies instead of friends.
-
You are certainly making a bad image for HBH.
Thats regardless if they deserve it or not and if the newbies or not.
Lets see if they deserve it (Skidies):
-
It shows that the skid got the best of you and succeeded in making you look like a jerk.
-
You could reply in a (decent/respectful) way to make him realize he is stupid.
Newbies :
- Imo newbies should never be flamed ,
its like shouting at a lost kid in the street asking you for directions !

the answer is yes. if you think about it in terms of the iraq war, load of countries disagree with it, but they are staying out of it. as in less extreme terms, most people would just tell you to keep out of their business.
what right do you have to defend or accuse someone? if they wish for support then yes, that is the time where you go in and help.
for instance, when someone has got hurt but they say that they are fine, the last thing they want is loads of people coming up and giving them countless bandages and medicine. they just want to get on with it.
if the people in the forum cannot wither stand up for themselves because they believe that they are right or just brush it off while thinking about the point i made in the last post then maybe they shouldnt be here. of course, this is not an elite group of people that are accepted here (not in the 1337 sense of the word) but we wish this community to retain its quality of posts and ideas. this happens by discouraging others to post with bad quality again. asking them nicely doesnt normally do anything,
yes, that is what modern society is coming to.
so a little force is needed, as you say, not enough force to hurt them inside, but enough to discourage them.
unless these people have some social problems, then im sure that they will see that they shouldnt post like that again, completely fulfilling the purpose of the flame.
edit: also id like to say that its pretty poor that the length of your argument is less than half mine. obviously you havnt put in that much effort.
why dont you reveal who you are? or are you scared of being flammed?
if you did this with your main account i would be impressed.
you wouldnt have gotten banned/warned/rapped for this thread so the only thing stopping you is fear of loosing face and getting flammed.
flamming could almost be described as neccesary for a forum like this. If people get annoyed by one and other and are unable to say what they think about them then they will just get annoyed and leave.
And some people NEED to be flammed: cancer, he was a complete arse and boasted about it, he spammed the forum and bugged everyone but now hes been put in his place he still comes here i think but hes a lot more quiet and dosnt annoy nearly as many people.

World!, Offcourse the world would be better if everyone knows everything ,, but this a forum you can't stop newbies from joining and you shouldn't .. you want to isolate this community to a certain level of experience .. in this case nobody would need help if everyone in HBH knows everything then what is the forum for ?

some teachers go really hard on a class for the first week or two then settle down and lighten off. this initial strictness demands respect and shows them what will happen if they do stuff wrong.
judging by that example (which is completely legitimate as i have experienced that) flames are actually helping the poster to learn what is acceptable.
anyway, ive written a lot in this topic, id better give it a rest.
one more thing:
people already know that its not good to flame and i highly doubt that this topic will stop them. its raising awarness of something that people are already aware of. everyone has got flamed, its just part of the learning process.
