I do believe in the documentary. I've seen it a while ago.

The robotic field is being developped quicker than we can imagine. You should see some of the MIT Projects they're working on.

Some japanese Universities are also working on some sick shit.

who remembers back in the 60's when they thought that the worlds fresh water supply would run out in 2000? (I, personally, don't because I wouldn't be born for another 30 years…)

but ya, my grandpa-in-law (is that a word? my aunts father?) works at MIT and has told me about some of the awesome stuff they are working on. its mind bottling, like when your mind gets trapped in a bottle.

I agree all the "amazing stuff" can be done, but not on a large scale. So maybe only some parts of the world will get the "tech transformation", that would suck.

I say lets patch before we upgrade.

Great quote, I agree completely.

About the self-driving cars, the new Lexus 600h (i think 600) has mad safety features. They had a review and article about it in Car and Driver where the guy testing it TRIED to crash, but couldn't. The car sensed an object in the road and automatically applied the brakes. In the test the author did, he drove at a constant 60 mph and by the time he got to the object in the road he was doing 10, without him doing anything (the object happened to be a row of large cones) It senses if your head is turned the other way, and will beep and alert you if you happen to not be paying attention and the radars sense danger. On top of that, it has assisted steering so the car practically swerves around objects for you, if needed. Its a bargain at only $105,000.
