Free Shells ?
Nice. Umm so yeah… I looked around on the sdf.lonestar.org.. and the thing that looks interesting to me is Gopher… The only problem is, I have no idea what it really is or anything… I've googled it a little and looked on wiki but I haven't really figured ot what it actually is.
So yeah, any info or advice or stuff of that sort?
:)
Thanks, Reaper
i have been following this thread, and came to the same question as you reaper4334, But I learned from wiki that it is "an improved form of Anonymous FTP, with features similar to that of the World Wide Web." (wiki)
anyways, more info can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gopher_(protocol)
That's the one that HTS recommends, I use it & like it :)

i never got that "get a shell account to learn how to hack" lol
if it's to learn linux or unix commands there are better alternatives.
get vmware and start installing new os's, or a live cd
shells are useful because they force you not to use a GUI, and learn by reading the man pages.
rootshell.be is my choice.

…more like, they are useful because you don't have to load the entire linux kernel into your ram every time you want to open a linux command line and play around for 10 minutes.
