2 linux questions!

1. Versions im pretty confused about… what the diffrence between an iso and an image is… idk how to use an image. and for all my distros i use the i386 idk why i just know it works… whats the diffrence between it and the others?
2. I remember reading back in the day… i believe cheese posted it but i cant quite remember or find the post. It was about software that manage multi-booting better than the default ones. i want to make it so my windows boots first by default and change a few other things around.

i think one is for floppy nad the other is for CD

er.. shit. anyone wanna enlighten me… so far i've made like 7 disks. only one has had a problem so i think im ok but it would be nice to be sure. thanks -Tonz

Alright, an iso and an image, is basically the same thing. i386 is your computer architecture. And as for booting windows first, I'm not exactly sure, you'll have to google. I think it's got something to do with Linux Grub Bootloader (Not for sure, but I'm sure it's got something to do with it, and I might be wrong, so I'd google anyways).

i use VMWare, allows you to simply add an iso of a distro easily, and then you just run the OS through VMWare under Windows OS. So you boot up in normally in windows, but if you want to go into Linux, then go to VMWare in your applications and run it. then choose which os you want from there. Then you can alt-tab between windows and whatever os you are running in VMWare. I think you can even drag and drop stuff from windows to vmware, not sure, I think its an option that works only sometimes.
