xp pro

i have xp professional right now. but the problem lies in the fact that it's not legit and i've noticed i can't get my automatic updates anymore, so i was thinking abuot buying a new copy of xp pro. thing is i have abuot 75gig of games and stuff on here and i don't wanna delete it all. is there a way to reinstall windows without deleting everything? or am i gunna end up buying an external harddrive and copying things to that before i reformat?

You could probably just use the serial of the new one and it should be fine. But, You could also "somehow obtain" the Nero program that burns CD that's the pro version, I believe it has the capability to back ups, but if you dont have a dvd burner you may be out of luck. Good luck X|m

To change the activation key is fairly simple check out:

You will however need a "legit" key.

I belive that MS have a huge db of blacklisted keys which they check when doing a windows update.

I have a keygen which i used for for many years but now they have a little app that installs when doing an update that can tell if the key you have is legit or not.

I have seen floating around in the newsgoups a hacked LegitCheckControl.dll. to circumvent Windows Genuine Advantage Validation.

yeahhhhhhhh i heard that if you do the new updates, u'll get a message that u dont have an original copy of XP (unless u have one) … dunno turn off your automatic updates for now..

pm me if you want the bi-pass crack. So even though it's not legal.. you're still able to update. =P

You could try renaming LegitCheckControl.dll to LegitCheckControl.bak before openiong windows update, and when you have the updates just rename it back to LegitCheckControl.dll.

I don't know if this works though 'cos I have legit WinXP but acording to my friend, it dows work.

Yeah i had a tool to get past this but i cant rememebr where it is on my comp :(

There was 2 tools

1. This showed your current key and made you able to change it

2. this was a batch file that had a list of all xp keys that can be used and make you copy legit.

Im looking for it now im sure it will be on the net somewhere or someone on here will have it.

it will suck if i get that. Cos my parents dont know i formatted and put in a non-legit crack. Even though it came with a legit, they didnt supply moi with the s/n. Bah during writing this post, i just checked under my laptop and there is a sticker with my s/n on! w00t. XP Pro for life!

Have you found it yet Dami3n? I am having the same problems downloading WMP 11 :(
