Root windows 98

I want to hack a pc thats on win98. I'm not really experienced, as in never hacked a pc before, but I do know some stuff. I know the ip adress and I scanned for open ports and that obly gives port 21 and 1900 open, tried telnetting them both and ftp to the first one but that didnt work out. It isnt vulnerable to NBTSTAT either, because when I try that it says host not found, but it's alive. Any tips?

What do you want to hack it for? What do you want to do in there? Do you have access to the PC?

I dont have acces to the PC. I dont want to do any damage to his pc, just snoop around, check his files. This is basicly to gain experience, not to fuck with this guy.
