Sam Decrypting Error

Hey, Let me fill you guys in: I have been working my ass off to get the fucking sam file from my school(excuse my langue, i am ticked) The only thing my admin seems to do right is block the sam file but I got it and sent it to myself and used cain to try and decrypt it and it got this stupid error message that says "Couldn't find LSA subkey in the hive file"

I feel crushed, what does this mean? NC

I'm not positive but I think you need to run the SAM and system files through SAMInside first, then enter the hash it gives you into the Cain.

BTW how are you retrieving the SAM file, linux distro?

no, I went into the repair folder under 'Windows' folder and copied it to another file, sent it to myself and then deleted the copy.

Why? does it matter?
