Is it safe?

I'm getting an alienware computer and I need to know if its safe to put Linux on it, does anybody know?

Ok, I'm feeling a bit green with envy now, you got an Alienware, but I only got a Dell.

What type are you getting? A desktop or a laptop?

The only tip I can remember now is that check your graphics card, since ATI has horrible Linux support compared to Nvidia.

Try running a LiveCD version of your chosen distribution first.

I"m getting a desktop, Aurora to be exact. Yeah, Thats what i thought but the graphics is whats bothering me. Thanks

Wow..that's awesome to hear. I'm currently on mine right now and it's the shit. Graphics card wise..i'd buy one from Radioshack that's advanced aand that should be all you need. I have only a small portion of linux installed on mine and it works just fine so i'd say it's probably ok.
