AIM Direct Connect?

Hey everybody. I was wondering what else you can do with an AIM Direct connect, besides the fact that you can see someone's IP address. Also, is there a way to spoof your IP from this? Just wondering if Dir. Con. is somewhat useful to a hacker. Sorry if there is a spelling error, just woke up. =D

I haven't used aim in a while but if i remember right they made it so you cannot get a IP by direct connecting because when you "direct connect" you actually go through an AOL server rather than directly to the person as the name would imply.

(your compy)<——>(AOL blue server)<——>(other compy)

nope, you cab still get all that from direct connect, i just did it to my friend lol but the only thing that goes to the servers is the chat (instant messages)

you direct connect and netstat. you wont find ANYTHING

you can use a proxy with aim too. read the article i wrote on my site on using proxys.

It's netstat -n btw… and yeah, you can do some other stuff to their computer depending on what version of aim they are using. :happy:
