How does Proxy Hunter Work?

Hi I have been checking out this tool called proxy hunter.
http://www.proxyhunter.net/proxyhunter/proxyhunter.htm I was wondering how this tool works? Does it do a port scan on the range of ip's you give it and see if there is any possible proxy ports open on the ip's? And what is this ProxySwitch tab I see on the right?

Im guessing this could be used for hacking likely scanning a corporate range of ip's and seeing if there are any misconfiged proxies.

I just really wanto know how this tool works/what exactly it is doing thanks.

thanks i actually did read that before posting. I was thinking more along the lines of how does it work. What does it do to verify a proxy or non proxy..

It's not verifying a proxy or non-proxy… it's verifying what proxies are working from a list that you supply it. As for what it does to verify, I'd imagine it attempts to send traffic thru the proxy and sees if it gets a response back.
