Ok well I was wondering the exact order of programming languages I should learn. I want to start with web programming like from HTML and then end with real programming such as C or ASM. So if someone can give the exact sequential order I should learn these langauges in that would be INCREDIBLY helpful!

There is no exact sequential order, no matter what anyone here says.

It's for YOU to decide.

Start with what you're comfortable with, then branch.

And, only learn to program if you find you LIKE to program.

….. if you just did what i think you did and implied that high level languages aren't "real" programming I may well have to come down there and bitchslap you.

I'd recommend:

HTML –> PERL and/or PHP –> JAVA –> C –> C++ –> x86 Assembly

I'm NOT saying by any means that it has to be done as such, but I think it would be a nice progression of concepts, as they build up on each other.

I'd say do html/js then php, learn sql

maybe then try out Java or C. A little Actionscript never goes wrong either, it can be quite useful.

Before you try ASM on x86, try it on a TI graphing calculator first :p

That way you crash your calculator over and over but not your computer… oh and check out VirtualTI, it's a great TI emulator. It's not too hard to find ROMs either…

I've always wanted to mess around with asm a bit, but I'm still learning advanced JS, and basic java/actionscript lol. Just do what you're comfortable with… Honestly, and dont flame me for this anyone, I really really like TI-BASIC. Even though it's crap. and severely underpowered. and megaslow. and did I mention crippled?

Whatever it is, it made Lunar Lander pretty well today in trig ^.^

Do what you like, don't let anyone else decide for you.
