it would take a great deal of programming knowledge an probably specialised knowledge in gift cards and probably some specialised hardware.

Im sure people have tried it and probably without success but if someone has succeded they are not going to post instructions for it for all to see when there is soo much money to be made, though if you do have specialised knowledge in gift cards, lots of programming knowledge and the right hardware and figure out how to do it then you can always pm me with how to do it

argh , you'd need a card reader and the software for it, and you'd need to know how ro break the encryption on the card. Then you'd need to know what data is on an ACTIVATED card and place it on the new card, however you'd be absolutley stuffed if the company supplying the cards had a database saying which cards where activated and w/e

yes, if the company had half a brain then it would probably have them all checked in a remote server or whatever to stop this kind of thing maybe with a list of ip's that are allowed to put money on them and blocking all ip's that arnt in the list. They would also probably have user and pass authentication so you would need a user/pass and you would have to periodically have to change the user you use because it would be noticed if some employee's number of gift card sales doubled but the income stayed the same.

conclusion: i doubt anyone here has the knowledge and skills to do this. Just stick with stuff t-shirts down your top or whatever if you cant afford stuff

Some gift cards are easy to hack. There are tutorials all over and the manuals are reaily available. It really depends on the type of card ie wal-mart, target, betst buy whatever.

I'm sure by now there are a lot more methods in place to combat gift card fraud but if you're just looking for some interesting reading google it.

I know I sound like a broken record with the old stfw routine but I did a search for "gift card hacking" and just that alone puts up loads of info. Most of it is probably out dated but still a fun read. Even if you get it figured out, I tend to agree with koolkeith12345 it's going to be a lot of effort and probably not worth it.
