Metasploit problem

Hello

I am using Metasploit 2.7 (Yes I am aware that 3 is out, but I prefer 2.7) and when ever I attempt to use the MSFweb feature, everything goes well, and I get to the check and exploit screen. It says "Exploit and Check options not available, Defanged mode enabled". I have googled it many times, tried to tweak the source, and everything. I cannot figure out how to disable this option.

did you got warning when starting msfweb?

I don't think these forums support .png picture format, but I can describe step by step what I do to activate the interface.

(I'm running Ubuntu Edgy Eft by the way, if that helps)

1.) I open a Konsole 2.) I switch to the framework-2.7 directory 3.) I type in "./msfweb" 4.) I get a message saying +––=[ Metasploit Framework Web Interface (127.0.0.1:55555) 5.) I open up Mozilla Firefox and go to the web framework page (http://metasploit.com:55555/) 6.) I enter my exploit 7.) I enter my payload 8.) I enter my options (RHOST, LHOST) 9.) I enter my Target 10.) I hit Check and then it says "The server has been started in 'Defanged' mode. Check and Exploit options are not available…" 11.) Then I hit launch exploit and again it says "has been started in 'Defanged' mode. Check and Exploit options are not available…"

I have already googled everything. I cannot seem to find a solution. Please help.

I noticed that you said you went to http://metasploit.com:5555/

The proper URL for the msfweb is http://127.0.0.1:5555/ (localhost)

That might be your problem

Ah. That was definatly my problem. Thanks so much for helping me to the two people who posted replies. I tried it again and know it works perfectly.
