help me plz?

ok well i new to hacking and i have been trying to figure out how to use the john the ripper password cracking but i still dont get how to. i have looked at many different pages and still dont know. i was planing on useing it to get passwords for runescape characters but i just dont know what to do. now i need help to learn how to use a pass cracker and if any of you know how to use one or know how to get passwords on runescape website to get into the change ur pass page so i can change ppl pass to get any items they got and have enough time to be able to have banks pins on the game to be deleted if theres one. if u can help me u can post here or msg me on msn or email me. my msn is wes_t13@earthlink.net and thats also my email which i check every day.

from memory it's john-mmx pass.txt

where pass.txt contains the hash

and then jon-mmx pass.txt –WORDLIST=words.txt –SESSION=other10

where words.txt is a wordlist, and the session is so you can resume if you have to quit half way through.

ya i get thet part but i not sure were to put commands in cause i using windows 2000 (i have linux but not going to install it on my computer untill i make a dual boot system which i can get my dad to tell me how but i just rather not right now cause im to lazy to)

start>run>type cmd>if your main jtr floder is on the desktop, type cd desktop, then cd folder with john, then cd run, then: john-386 -w:wordlist.txt hash.txt

ok. i put the jtr folder in my folder desktop in my my documents folder but when i put in "cd JTR" (which is the name of the folder) it says that the system cant find the path specified

ok nvm i got into the folder. now im in the run folder but the command u told me to put in doesnt work. so im lost now

ok i can run the program. now when i put i the command: john-386 -w:john.txt password.lst it says no password hashs loaded. (the john.txt file is were is what type of stuff used for cracking the pass and the password.lst is password files but i have to pass hashs). so what i do to get some pass hashs?

JTR is very sensitive to hash input. Post the hash here plz

hash input? if ur talking about a hash file as far as i know i donthave one enless its one of the other files i have which i not sure if it is.

Dude are you retarded?? In cmd type 'john-mmx' and it will say how to use it. (you have to put password hash in a file and then pass that file to john, ie. u put the password in a.txt, call john like this 'john-mmx a.txt')

Whoa wait I just caught this are you trying to use jtr to get passwords or crack passwords you already have???? Seems to me your trying to get passwords for runescape via jtr,Not gonna happen:angry:

Why do you think that you could use JTR to get passwords? JTR cracks them once YOU OBTAIN them… I suggest you drop the idea of hacking runescape… and its a good idea too to stop playing it, im talking of personal experience.

i dont play ruenscape much. exceptially latly. i mostly play warcraft III and i might start WoW soon.

I think your best bet would be to create a brute forcer that uses a set of common passwords over many accounts (because, from my limited experience with rs, i believe there is a lockout feature). You could make a program that pulls a list of names from the highscores with good stats or wtver, so that you can get a coupla thousand at a time.

Or if you know the specific person/have access to their computer, you could use a keylogger. If they are on your network, you might even be able to use cains ARP poisoning to collect the username and password when they log into forums or other features of the site that aren't java.

It sounds like you don't have much if any experience in the way of coding/hacking though, so I would suggest going out, doing a bit of research, and then giving up.

As far as I know, no one knows how to effectively hack runescape accounts, and you will get flamed if you go around asking.
